if you want to format your nokia 6500. is good to update your firmware version using nokia software updater.. download the tool in nokia website and follow the steps..

Re-Format wont reslove the issue, this a firmware fault with the phone and you should download the latest firmware updata from Nokia.com and this will solve your problem!!!

you can try to check if theres any updated software/firmware for your 6500. you can check that from this website:

http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update

then enter the code which is located at the back of your phone.
you can check the your current firmware by typing *#0000# from the standby screen

NOTE: PLEASE MAKE SURE TO BACK UP EVERYTHING BEFORE UPGRADING YOUR SOFTWARE/FIRMWARE

if it shows that theres a latest software version than the current version of your phone then upgrade your software using Nokia PC Suite. then it will reset your security code and settings.

Backup all your data and try *#7370# and *#7380# and *#7780# It may solve your problem.

easy change the mic i know its dificult but its the only way but try first restart to factory settings
