Drum not turning (WFL 2260)

Machine fills with water, timer switch makes appropriate clicking noise but drum/motor does not start working.

On rinse cycle maching fills with water but goes no further.

No problem on drain cycle.

On spin cycle nothing happens.

Have cleaned chamber bottom right and pulled the odd black plactic thing a few times to see if sensors are detecting some problem.

Belt is fine but motor turning very easily by hand so suspect it is a motor problem.

Any ideas please,on a Beko WM 6143S that makes a crackling sound when draining. The crackling has now stopped, but on starting the washing cycle,it fills up, the drum turning as normal then does not drain ( you can't even hear the pump making the usual motoring sound). After about 5-10 minutes the machine switches off ( on 'Ready mode ) with the water still inside

Possibly the belt is off/broken? can you hear the motor turning when the drum is supposed to be revolving? If not supect the motor carbon brushes, or some other fault with the motor/and /or circiut, at best it may be a burned out wire to the motor

ok then. back to my original response.  Supect the motor carbon brushes, or some other fault with the motor/and /or circiut, at best it may be a burned out wire to the motor. Have a look underneath for a broken wire into the motor.(tip the machine back & lean it against the wall),if no sign of a break suspect motor fault, could be carbon brushes which is fairly easy to fix

    MAKE SURE POWER IS OFF

Machine doesn't start, just clicks like it's trying to reset

That clicking sound is most likely from your overheat safety switch located on the motor. This trips when there is too much bind or friction from the drum causing your motor to overheat I would check the drum bearing first by trying to turn the drum on your machine from the door area.

If it turns, it may be ok, but just to be sure, take the rear cover from your machine and remove the belt on the large pulley, then try starting the machine again. If you hear a hum and the clicking goes away you most likely have a bad drum bearing.

WFC 2260 - Machine Fills and empties, but drum doesn't rotate

You probably need to replace the brushes in the motor.
Remove rear panel, remove belt from drum, undo 2 screws securing motor, unplug lead to motor, lever motor back with a screw driver, keeping hold of it, and remove motor.
You will find the brushes located at the opposite end to the motor pulley.
Please leave a fixya rating for my proposed solution.
Thankyou.
