Only unlocks partway if at all.

I have installed my new Powerbolt1000 and put fresh batteries in too. When i press the lock button, it locks fine. However when I input my unlock code, the bolt only retracts halfway (not enough for the door to open). When I manually lock the door from the inside of the house and then press the input code, it's even worse and sometimes the bolt does not even retract at all. I can hear it trying to work, but nothing happens or the bolt only moves a little bit. I'm pretty sure the door direction jumper is fine, that is not the problem, it just doesn't seem to have enough power to unlock the door all of the way. I exchanged the first product I bought because I had an issue with this as well as one of the bolts not fitting in the threads correctly, but now the second lock still does not seem to unlock very well. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: dead bolt trys to turn in the same direction

Hi.
I think it can be possible that the bolt assembly is installed upside down.
Remove the unit, and refit with the bolt and faceplate the other way up.
Test WITH THE DOOR OPEN. to ensure correct function.

I am not familiar with this lock - but other weiser locksets can suffer the same problem if a deadbolt is installed inverted.

Any four digit code works no matter how many times you reset code. how do you erase all codes and start fresh?

How do I change the access code (and delete my old code) on my Powerbolt 1000?

The steps below are to change your access code to a new code. This will also remove any previous codes stored in the Powerbolt's memory.

pb1000programbutton

  1. Manually put the bolt in the extended (lock) position. Press the PROGRAM button once, enter your new 4 - 8 digit code and then press the LOCK button.
  2. Press the PROGRAM button twice, enter the same new code and then press the LOCK button once.
  3. Press the PROGRAM button three times, enter the same new code and then press LOCK once.
If your old code still remains in the unit, you will need to perform a hard reset of the unit. To perform a hard reset of the unit, remove all four batteries and leave them out for 1 hour. After the hour has passed, you may re-enter the batteries.

I'd recommend replacing the batteries if you haven't done so yet.
Good luck--and please provide feedback if this helps!

Just bought a powerbolt1000 and trying to install it, when I puch lock it unlocks it and when I push numbers it locks it how do I fix this

Here is a link to the Frequently asked question page for your lock:

http://www.weiserlock.com/Support/Faq/50160000000HhmZAAS.aspx

I have installed your Powerbolt, but when I push the Lock Button, it unlocks? What should I do?
First remove the cover on the inside of the Powerbolt unit. On the right hand side under the batteries, you will notice that is says "Door Direction Jumper". If the cap is mounted on Prongs 1 & 2, carefully remove it and move it over so that it mounts Prongs 2 & 3. A is right handed, B is left handed.

Here's a link which tells you how to remove the cover, and reprogram the lock codes:

2002 bmw 530i key does not (remotely) unlock doors or trunk but they work fine manually.

Unlock vehicle. Enter vehicle. Close driver's door. Switch ignition ON and OFF. Remove ignition key. Press and hold unlock button. Press lock button briefly 3 times within 10 seconds keeping unlock button depressed. Release unlock button. Some models: LED flashes slowly for 10 seconds. Some models: Central locking system locks and unlocks rapidly to indicate correct programming. Repeat above procedure if central locking system does not work and LED does not flash or LED flashes continuously.

2006 BMW 323i Passnger Door lock will not lock / unlock w/ remote

Replace fuse 57 (15 amp) then disconnect battery and wait 30 to 45 minutes before reconnecting the battery.

My 2006 BMW 325I had the same problem with the door locks not responding. I checked all related fuses and found #57 (15 amp) was the only related fuse blown. I put in a new fuse and it still would not work. I then disconnected the battery for a while then once I reconnected the battery everything worked fine.

I believe I blew the fuse while repeatedly pushing the unlock button rapidly while walking across the parking lock to the car. I suggest only pushing the unlock button only once or twice.

Mercedes key fob wont lock the doors.might have a piecec missing from the circuit once opened up.

Hi, it’s pretty difficult to lose a part of the circuit as you describe. So assuming that you have placed new fresh batteries correctly in the key – making sure that the polarity is correct! (easy to get wrong!) the key will need to be synchronised to the cars ignition / management system. You don’t say which model or year your Merc is, but most have a similar way of re – synchronising the Key to the car. It’s pretty easy and you lose nothing by trying it anyway.

Synchronising the locking system
If the vehicle cannot be locked or unlocked, first check the remote control unit batteries (see below). If the battery charge indicator lamp lights up, this means the system needs to be synchronised.
To do this, direct the remote control unit at the car and briefly press the Lock or Unlock button twice. Within approximately 30 seconds, put the key in the ignition lock and turn the key to position 2. The locking system should now be operative.

Battery Check
Press either the Lock or Unlock button and hold for longer than one second. The light on the key lights up briefly if the battery is OK. if it does not light up, replace the batteries immediately. Mercedes will charge a small fortune for these, so try elsewhere, they are pretty common and will cost substantially less.

If re – synchronising the Key fails to solve the problem, check that the Central locking fuse in the cars main fuse box is OK.

Hope this solves the problem – Let me know? Good luck!

TWO KEY FOB IS NOT WORKING ONLY ONE

Have all keys with you inside the car and repeat again with the second key within 30 seconds...... "Press and hold the 'unlock' button while at the same time pressing the center 'lock' button three times. On the third time, release the 'lock' button at the same time you release the 'unlock' button." If you have a key with three buttons, ensure doors are unlocked. Put key in ignition and turn key over to 2d position where dash lights, etc come on. Pull key out. Press and hold the "unlock" button while at the same time pressing the center "lock" button three times. On the third time, release the "lock" button at the same time you release the "unlock" button
