My printer did not come with a usb cable. I'm unable to complete the set up. I've tried printing & i am unable to print. I have been on hold with lexmark tech support for over 35 minutes. How can I complete the setup?
Rather than fuss with them go to walmart and buy one.. send the reciept to lexmark (if included) and they should refund you..

I have a Lexmark X4850, every time I print a job it prints a blank page first then the document. I have tried to tell it to print 1-1 or 1-3 but it continues to print that blank page first. any suggestions.

I may be a bit late with this but it worked for me. Uninstall your antivirus, remove any parental controls and disable your firewall. Then, reinstall the printer and download a 2008 version of your anti virus and re-enable your firewall. I haven't reactivated the parental controls just in case it all goes pear shaped.

turn on the printer sharing via the system preference panel on the computer that is on the system via usb.
Then on your wifi computer look for shared printers and you'll see your printer in the list under the host computer name... use that setting and it should fire up for you!

Here is the way I bypass the alignment when I get a new cartridge: When the screen comes up that is asking for it, it does not have the option to "cancel" the printing of it. I just take the paper out of the printer and press "print". Since there is no paper in it, it cannot print. This will make the same screen come up again, but this time it has the "cancel" option. Now, every time I want to print something out, the screen that wants to print a alignment page comes up, and I just click on "cancel" - after that I can do my printing. This is a bit annoying, but it saves me some ink.

I'll help you. First plug the printer with the power cord in the proper port of the printer and another side on the electric outlet. Then connect the printer to the system with USB cable. But don't turn it on now. Put the driver disk for windows 7 and run the setup. It will appear automatically. Follow the instruction in setup screen and go to the next step by clicking 'next'. Turn the printer on while the setup will ask to connect the USB cable. After completing the setup reboot the printer and the system both if required or give a print job. You can take help from the manual given inside of the printer box.
