My tv mitsubishi wd-60735 turns on for about 2 min. then shuts off and red lamp light turns on,,,The lamp is only 3 months old.. Do I just need to replace bulb again or is it something else???

Don't know if this applys to you but if you have purchased anything but Osram or Philips replacement lamp for your DLP tv then this is probably your problem.. The generic is VERY tempting in this recession but in this case generic is poison to your dlp tv... i have a Mitsubishi 60735 and went thru 2 generic bulbs when my tv kept shutting down on it's own and the lights on front would flash, i could cut it back on for 10 minutes then flicker and shut down again ..well since the bulb was new i thought it may be defective so i got is exchanged for another one ... after all of the post i have seen how much repairs were going to cost on dlp sets no matter what the problem was ..i was ready to chunk the tv out the door when the second lamp was doing the same thing.....!! well a last ditch effort to save my tv before i trashed it or taking it apart to dissect it.. was to buy a brandname lamp ... in my case i purchased a Philips ..it cost twice as much =/ ..i could just return it if it didn't work.. well it was the generic lamps that was causing trouble.. the brandname worked perfectly .. i am just glad the generic lamp didn't do any damage to my TV!!! I have done further research on the generic lamps and realized that the damage it could have done was not worth the money i saved when i purchesed it... Generic is a great deal In some cases (household cleaners, etc..) but in this case GET THE NAME BRAND!!!! the only name brands i know of for these lamps are Philips or Osram/Sylvania.. hope this helps others from this headache. Do your research don't by generic lamp replacements, your DLP set cost to much to risk it.

My WD- 60735 mitsubishi tv will come on and work properly for about 5-10 mins then shut its self off. A orange light will flash 1-3 times then go green and blink for a period of time, what is the prblem?

Count the number of flashes of the green light and make note if there is a sequence. Google WD-60735 blink codes. This will send you to a number of links to choose from. The blink code will tell you what is wrong with your tv.

Projector turns on and works for about 2 minutes, then shuts off

You may have to reset the bulb hour counter. Go thru the setup menus and see if you can do it from there. Infocus projectors make you jump thru the hoop.

I changed the bulb in the m50wh72s RCA DLP tv. Before I changed the bulb I had sound. Now I have no sound or picture. Any ideas? Thanks

Check that when you turn on the TV the Lamp is striking (turning on).

My thoughts are that you will have to reset the lamp hours counter to make it work, as the TV does not know that you have replaced the lamp. To do this, check the leaflet that comes with the lamp - it should explain how to reset the counter for the lamp hours.

No picture, have audio tv shuts off after 2 minutes

If you've replaced the lamp with a Mitsubishi lamp and not a generic, then the problem will be in one of two areas. Its either a bad ballast board (lamp power supply) or the color wheel assembly. If you've gotten a generic lamp, you may find that that's the reason its still not working properly. Many generic lamps are unsuitable for this product and will cause issues like low brightness, intermittent no start, and short lamp life. Also, make sure that the lamp door is properly installed because there is an interlock switch which will open if the door is not aligned properly.

Bulb Replacement

the bulb hot indication has nothing to do with the lamp counter.u would have reset the counter as suggetsed by the manufacturer,
this problem is because of the following:
1) wrong bulb
2) cooling fans not working adequately
3) defective ballast
check the above for a solution

Reseting the lamp meter on tv

1) Press the POWER button to turn your TV on. Make sure you are set to Cable/TV reception. If the "replace lamp. Reset Lamp timer" notice appears, press "EXIT" on your remote.
2) Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN BUTTON on the TV set (not the remote, the actual TV set)
3) Continue to press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button and press and hold the PIP (Picture in Picture) or SPLIT/PLAY button on your REMOTE control (your are pressing and holding BOTH of these buttons at the same time now).
4) After 5 or 10 seconds (be patient), the lamp serice menu will appear and say your lamp counter has been rest to '0' (zero). That's it, you are all done.

Now, I continue to have the power shut off after a few minutes of play. I think it is a problem with the cooling fan. Damn it all anyway.

My sony tv will not stay on

If you replace the lamp and need to reset the Lamp Timer Reset procedure is: With The Set In Standby Press Display, 5, Vol Up, Power on the remote control Press Jump 3. Or, To Display The Lamp Time Press 2 Nine Times. To Reset Press 3, Mute, Enter. One of these should work on your model. Make sure you replace the bulb first. There is a possibility that the ballast could be damaged by a defective bulb as well.
