Gas range oven won't light. Did an oven self-clean and after the cleaning cycle the oven will not light for baking. Have a Maytag gas range model MGR5750ADA.
After the oven had completed the full cleaning cycle and hat totally cooled off to room temperature, when you now push the "bake" tab on the control panel, the oven comes right back thinking that it is at the requested temperature, even though it is at room temperature. When you push the "clean" tab on the control panel, it does not light up or do anything at all. We unplugged the range for 5 minutes, plugged it back in, but still the oven will not light.

Good Afternoon Gwen - Try reprogramming the range by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn the unit back on. If issue persists, then the unit could possibly be experiencing an issue with a wiring failure, EOC (electronic oven control), sensor probe and/or faulty bake or broil element. I would strongly recommend consulting a professional to narrow down the precise issue before investing in parts that may or may not be the root cause.
To Self-Clean: 1. Press SELF CLEAN to set the clean time to HI (4 hours 30 minutes). 2. Press the TEMP/TIME "+" or "-" keypads to cycle between LO and HI clean time. 3. Press START. The oven door will automatically lock. The CLEAN indicator light will be displayed. The time remaining will also be displayed. 4. When the self-clean cycle is complete and the oven cools, the CLEAN indicator light will turn off. 5. When the oven is completely cooled, remove ash with a damp cloth
Remove the broiler pan, grid, cookware and bakeware, all cooking utensils, oven racks and aluminum foil and, on some models, the temperature probe from the oven
You are getting a delayed ignition fom the oven burner. Either the ports on the burner near the ignitor are clogged or you have a weak oven ignitor. part # 12400035 @ $70.00
IF THE IGNITOR GLOWS WHEN YOU TURN ON THE OVEN, BUT DON'T GET ANY FLAME, IT IS MOST LIKELY THE IGNITOR. THE COST OF IT IS AROUND 50-75 DOLLARS.
TO REPLACE ONE, YOU MUST GAIN ACCESS TO THE OVEN
BAKE BURNER BY LIFTING OUT THE BOTTOM PAN OF THE OVEN. THEN REMOVE TWO SCREWS THAT HOLD THE IGNITOR TO THE BURNER. FOLLOW THE WIRES DOWN TO THE CONNECTOR PLUG. SELF-CLEAN MODELS WILL BE BEHIND A PANEL BEHIND THE STORAGE DRAWER. NON SELF-CLEAN MODELS WILL BE BEHIND AN ACCESS PANEL DOWN IN THE BROILER AREA. DISCONNECT THE PLUG AND REPLACE THE IGNITOR IN REVERSE ORDER.
PART NUMBER 12400035 MAYTAG.
