The power light is just blinking red on my panasonic 1080i hdtv. cant even switch it off using the power button. picture and sound come on for about a second when the tv is switched on after power cord...

The power light keeps flashing and the tv won't turn on. If you unplug for a minute and hit the power button it sound like it is coming on then it shuts off and the red power light flashes slowly. The TV is a Panisonic 1080i HDTV, about 6-7 years old.

chec your ic register diode and transistor.
aslo check poer supply waltage and earthing properly.

Toshiba projection tv shuts off after it is turned on for a couple of minutes and the red light blinks. Have to unplug it and go through this a few times before it decides to finally stay on.

I repared some with that problem. Simply change the 2 convergence IC.

Unplug,replug,push the popwer buton couples time,see if stable green LED light,should get tv pic& suond back, not replaced the backlight video board it some how die.

Check the solder connections at the negative side of both C809 and C810. Resolder if necessary. This a common problem with model.

Red light blinks

Check the lamp door (with green on) ,.. both green and red blink - bad lamp. Green off, red blinks..Try unpluging for 2 minutes and retry - if no different (sorry, call a service person).

Likely to be the STK convergence chips causing a protection circuit to switch the TV off. Have you got any onscreen convergence problems (i.e, colour fringes)?

I have had the same problem with my Toshiba 40WH08B rear projection TV and I fixed it for £40! You can do the same if you can solder or find someone who can do this for you.

Let me know if you want to give this a go and I will post instructions.
