How do I bypass my password on my IMAC computer

hi Gabrielle.
try this.
Press the Command and R keys at the same time when the grey screen appears and hold them until you see the Apple logo. A small loading bar will appear under the logo. Sit tight as your system boots into Recovery Mode. Click the Utilities tab in the top menu bar, select Terminal, type reset password and press Enter.
if this does not work go to this link and it should help you out some more.

I just installed a new PC on my home network and now Safari on the iMAC has a big question mark on it.

If you mean a (?) in a diamond on the Safari icon in Dock/task bar, then you have a "missing" or broken application. I would recommend reinstalling Safari. That will probably mean using your Time Machine backup, assuming you have one. Without that reinstall the latest copy you have of Safari even if it is on the OS install disk, then run update from the Apple menu until there are no more updates. My copy is at 4.0.5, today. -Ken
