Almost any sewing machine dealer will sell a cord/controller set. If you phone a local dealer they will amost certainly carry it. Its been the same basic type for the past 10 or so years. 30-40 is normal cost.
Try setting all your dials on the middle numbers, ex:# 5 if it goes 1-9.Check your manual if you have one. Check on scrap material with every project and adjust tension accordingly.
