A high pitch noise comes normally from blown capacitors from the motherboard or the power supply. But mostly high pitch noise comes from power supplies.

You could have to open up the power supply to see them.

Verify if it is the case and replace the faulty part.

Sorry since its a Dell 1800, do you hear a high pitch noise from the pc speaker or an abnormal high pitch ?

Since the red light on the server is light blinks, its probably hardware.
Download the DELL's diags and run them (memory,Hard drive etc)
You can get them here : Dell diags

If the server is not Posting at all the only way is to remove the parts one by one or swap them with working parts for some and see if its starts.

My Dell inspiron 13r laptop is emitting a very high pitched noise when it is on. I have tried reinstalling my audio drives but nothing seems to be working... Please help

If it is a relatively quiet, high pitched noise, it may not even be from your speakers. I've experienced a high pitched noise whenever i plug in my AC adapter to my PSP, so there is a chance it might be power related.

If the high pitch noise is coming from the bottom edge of the LCD screen, then the noise could be coming from the inverter.

Power edge loght is red and blinking

You should be able to see the reasons in the front panel, remove the front cover and you will see a small display with some information passing slowly. Sometimes is just the redundant power-supply that is disconnected.

All three lights turn on like normal and then nothing

Depending on the pitch. humming noises are either a motor ie: fan motor or if it is very low a defective capacitor . Since you have the yellow band and the high pitched beep my fist thought is somthing defective in the power supply. Take it to an authorized servicer.

High Pitch noise from my B130

Sounds like a hardware problem, but it could be software.

What happens when you mute the volume?

Does it sound like its coming out of the speakers or somewhere else?
