Y Jet Vac cleaner runs for a few minutes then gets stuck in a corner or by the steps. The tail continues to move; the vac is still working but won't get moving around the pool.
Every pool has a dead spot where the vacume gets stuck! expesially when the vacs get a little age on them! juist keep an eye on it and work with it! or replace the vac!

Pool vacs sometimes do that. I changed my pump to the next bigger pump because once you hook that vac to it, it reduces the flow rate. the lesser flow rate doesn't seem to be enough to move the vac around and gets stuck easily. Also when the vac starts getting full it reduces the flow rate and will get stuck. Good luck.
The bag is supported by the jet of water shooting into it. When the pump stops, the jet stops and the bag should fall over sideways, retaining the leaves. I'm curious, Letro was bought out by Pentair 10+ years ago and the Jet Vac was discontinued. Also the description says that this cleaner runs without a booster pump. Every Jet Vac I have ever met runs with a booster pump. Are you sure the installation is correct?
Does pump work? if not, then it's a pump problem. If yes, then possibly plugged with debris either in the booster pump impeller or at the finger screen? It's located at the wall adaptor. Or... The internal gear assembly is the problem? Sometimes the get stuck, broken tooth on an individual gear, or foreign debris clogging it.
With these pool cleaners, there are several things that you should check. Make sure that your filter bag is not full and does not have any large debris that would hinder movement. Make sure that your impeller is not jammed or broken and check the entire drive system for objects that might have become lodged.
Is the cleaner getting stuck at steps, corners, etc? If so, your spin out is too short. Change the cam to the "winter" position to increase the pool cleaners spin out.
If you have a back up valve it will be about 18" from wall a small football looking thing this should cycle through about every munite or two and shoot a jet of water out the side of it for about 5-10 seconds if it dosen't do this pull it out of line and get a new gut for it. If this seems to be working ok you should be sure it has enough hose to reach the whole pool but be sure it just reaches the furthest point in the pool so it can strech the hose and remove any curls each time it does.
The gear placement is irrelevant. Is the propeller binding up? Also check for debris in the reverse jets. The beauty of the Jet Vac is it's simplicity,
First, check your finger screen and energy filter. If they are dirty on these automatic pool cleaners, this can cause the unit to not move. Clean them if necessary. Next, check to make sure that the backup hydro-timer is not releasing most of the water out of the discharge hole. If it is, the unit will not move properly and you will need to replace the defective jet gear assembly. Finally, check to make sure that the transporter jet is not plugged up and that the debris chambe is not full.
