You have to disconnect the charger in order for the chair to move. It automatically removes power from the controller while the batteries charge.

The battery of the chair is dead. It will say its charged but then when you take it off it will die.

You have to replace the battery.
I had the same exact problem with my father.

SOURCE: My Jazzy won't move.

If your batteries are truly charge they should read around 24.5 VDC. And if the freewheel lever is engaged and you still have no movement your probably need to get into a service tech. Also check the circuit breaker on the chair.

Yes, the main controller module can be very expensive to replace. I would take it to a reputable dealer if the battery replacement does not help.

Hi Gloria,
The first thing you need to do is measure the voltage at the charging socket of the Joystick (outside 2 pins). This will determine a lot of things, so I can guide you further.

Jazzy charge light on chager does not come on

The red light indicates that power to the off-board charger is on. Try a different ac wall outlet that you know works. If a red or green light does not come on you will need to replace charger. Also check the condition of your batteries - dead batteries will not charge.

My battery charger for my Jazzy 600 does not light up or get warm when I plug it in. The chair has not been used for months.

I tried to charge my jazzy. The charge light (red) remained on for several hours. Finally I moved the wire slightly the charge light turned green than faded to red. What is my problem? Your solution would be greatly appreciated.

No lights on charger when connected to wall socket or chair

flobo I assume that its the on-board charger and that it is the gray charger with one light. This charger light will only come on when the chair is fully charged. Now if you have left it plugged in all night and still have no light then I would think you have a bad charger. If you have a digital voltmeter you can check the battery voltage throught the external charger port under the joystick. Set it on 200 volts and insert each probe into the outter pin holes and you should be able to read the voltage. Without the charger plugged in you will be reading the total battery voltage 24-27 volts with the charger plugged in 27-30 volts also check the meter with the charger plugged it should show something above zero and gradually decrease as the batteries become fully charged. Hope this helps

When turning power it makes a clicking sound but does not power up. battery charger has a red and green light on. When plugged in and turned on it flashes 8 times. I checked the power control connection,...

The chair will not move if the charger is plugged in. The flashes are normal with the charger plugged into the chair. The lights on the charger mean that the batteries have been fully charged. Red and yellow lights mean charging. After you unplug the charger from the chair (if off-baord charger, turn charger off or unplug from the wall) then unplug from joystick. after plug is removed from joystick press the on button and all the battery lights should be lit and when you move the joystick forward you will hear the electric bake release and the chair should move forward etc Hope this helps

Jazzy 1103 Ultra batteies are good but?

If a fuse is blown, no lights will come on. One red light is an indication that the batteries are too low to operate the chair. Try using a different charger on it. The 1103 has an on-board charger, but you can charge the chair using an off-board charger that you can acquire on ebay for about $50.00 or so. Make sure it has a 3-pin XLR connector (most do), that will match with the 3-pin female post located on your joystick. Plug it in and see if that doesn't power up the batts. I just did a search on ebay and found these. http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p2681.m38.l1313&_nkw=wheelchair+charger&_sacat=See-All-Categories

My jazzy chair did charge up when we plugged it in last night. Is there something else wwe can do to get it to charge up?

Things I would check are ... Power at the outlet? Is the charger ON? Is there a fuse or circuit breaker involved? Are you certain it was plugged in (charger to charge port)? Have you noticed any deterioration in its operation recently?

This is a Jazzy powerchair.

What model Jazzy is it? A soft idle??? Like a purr or is it a grrr? Purr is okay, gurr, bad.
During a thunderstorm, any and all electronic equipment should be either unplugged, or put onto a power strip that has a replacement gurantee for any damage as a result of a storm, etc.

Yes, you can take a shot through the charger and it can whach out your controller, and cost about 1,200 bucks to fix. If you are lucky, it'll trip the circuit breaker on the chair.
