SOURCE: Tray empty message

If the machine says TRAY MISSING it's the contacts at the back so clean as other people have stated, you can also use a cardboard nail file to clean the contacts at the back if there really skanky!.

If the machine keeps saying EMPTY GROUNDS even though you have, pull out the tray, look just inside the aparture where the tray goes top right at the front there is a small slot where if you look closely you can see a small white micro switch. This will be probably gunged up with coffee and the switch will be stuck up, get a can of WD40 and squirt a small amount up into the switch then poke the switch with a small screwdriver up and down until it moves smoothly.

Then replace all the bits, sit down, look smug and have a coffee cos you've fixed it!! :0)

SOURCE: Jura Impressa F50 - tray - fault 8

Hi, if you havn't already solved this one, it has been caused by pulling the drip tray/ dump box out while the brew unit was still active. Switch off the machine and insert the drip tray without the dump box. Turn the machine back on and the brew unit should re align itself.

I had the same problem and had success with cleaning the contacts in the back of the machine with a small nail file/emery board. I found that the contacts that are inside the machine had a little calisification on them. Once they were cleaned up no problem.

SOURCE: I have a Jura Capresso Impressa S9 and it keeps

Where the contacts attach to the drip tray on the inside is where I had some coffee ground "sludge". It was making a weak electrical connection between the two contacts. As soon as I took a fine scrubber sponge to get rid of the build up - the Empty Tray message went away when I put the tray back in.

Cannot find my instructions for cleaning my JURA Impressa 65

Do you mean the Jura Impressa C65? If you are prompted to clean the machine, first touch and hold the Maintenance button for ~2 seconds. You will be prompted to empty the tray. Empty both the drip tray and the grounds container. Replace these. Press Rinse and place a container under the spout. Touch the Maintenance button again. Wait while the water flows into the container. When the water stops flowing, the LCD screen will change from "Cleaning" to "Add tablet". Open the cover of the filler funnel for coffee grounds and place the Jura cleaning tablet in the filler funnel. Close the cover. Touch the Maintenance button again. Wait for the Cleaning cycle message to be replaced by the "Empty Tray" message. Empty the drip tray and coffee ground container again and replace them. The coffee maker will be ready to use when you see Espresso Heating. The procedure for descaling is in the manual.

The instructions are available on the product site, https://www.shopjura.com/impressa-c65.html , under the Manuals tab. The current link is https://us.jura.com/-/media/global/pdf/manuals-global/home/IMPRESSA-C60-C65/download_manual_jura_C60-C65_ul.pdf?la=en&hash=A918AF729D1132A17AF6A80C45F95D8CCC692ACE&em_force=true . The section on cleaning the super automatic coffee maker are in chapter 5, which starts on page 30. The section on Cleaning starts on page 37. The section on Descaling starts on page 39.

I hope this helps.

You should Clean and dry the metal contacts on the back of the drip tray, ensuring that the gap between the contacts is clean and dry (if present, contacts not on all JURA models) Make sure that the plastic in between the contacts is clean
