Can't get Sony RM-VL600 remote to work with codes provided, is there a code for different TV manufacturer that will work for this tv?
There is no setup codes with Sony remote control, with Sylvania TVs. If you wish to get more codes and other details check:

Both the sites have setup code list, and setup procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check the site in 'Mosaic' view. It will make search easy.

I had the same issue with other devices and found out that the remote requires 5 digits instead of 4, so you need to add some digit at the beginning of the code. A lot of times it's 1, but sometimes is 2 or 3. Try the same codes listed on comcast's page, but entering a one before entering each of the codes. If that still doesn't work then try the number two and three and so on.

I need to know what model the Unversal remote is. if it take a 4 digit code, you can try these: 0054, 0030, 0171, 0020, 0096

I had the same problem. I have the 40 inch Proscan and they supplied a remote control guide for comcast. It was only 4 digits and it did not work. I called Comcast and they did not know. I found it needed 5 digits so I added a 1 and it worked The code is 10178. Hope it works for you.
