Rollers not picking up the paper or picking too many pieces at once.

I tried doing a diagnostic test with the hp website, but that didn't help. I cleaned the inside with the electronic spray thoroughly, and it still makes weird noises and rollers aren't picking up paper properly.

Pickup rollers can be easily replaced if you want to try that first. But the other noises could point to stripped gears or a different problem internally

SOURCE: Not receiving faxes when generated

Hi,

Are you using wireless or wired connection? Try to uninstall and re-install your printer. Remove all traces of the printer in Printers and devices including the fax. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall all applications that came with the printer. Reboot the computer. Unplug the printer from the PC and turn it off.

Run the CD that came with the printer and install all application and drivers. Wait for the installation to prompt you to plug the printer and turn it on. Make sure to wait for the prompt before plugging the printer to avoid your Operating System to use it's Native Drivers rather than the supplied driver from HP. Make sure that you are using wired connection when setting the printer up.

Hope this works for you.

How do I fix a Canon MP460 printer that feeds multiple sheets at a time, even for a one-page document, causing a paper jam?

Assumed you have cleaned out the feeding slot and sprockets that turn the feeder wheels. Often there's some piece of paper or gunk. One option that likely applies to most printers -- from another HP online source: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00190540&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
  1. Look for paper that might have jammed inside the product. Use a flashlight to carefully view the areas around the rollers. Remove all traces of paper found.
  2. Wipe the rubber paper-feed rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled or bottled water. Rotate the rollers up carefully to clean all the way around.
  1. Look for the paper pick roller farther inside the rear access area. The paper pick roller
IMPORTANT : The paper pick roller is a bit more difficult to reach; however, it is the most important part to clean. Make sure to clean it thoroughly. If this roller is not clean, the issue will likely continue.
  2. Clean the paper pick roller with a cotton swab moistened with distilled or bottled water. Apply a moderate amount of pressure to make sure that you remove all debris. Clean the roller thoroughly all the way around. Figure 8: Clean the paper pick roller

  3. Make sure that the rollers on the rear access door or duplexer are clean and in good condition. If any are missing, stuck, or loose, replace the rear access door or duplexer with a new one. Figure 9: Rear access door rollers

  4. Allow the rollers to dry completely, and then replace the rear access door or duplexer. Slide the rear access door or duplexer into place, and then gently push it in until it clicks or snaps into place.

Hp officejet 4500 will not print from mac ibook g4

HP Officejet 4500 (G510) Series and 4500 (K710) Series All-in-One Printers - The All-in-One Does Not Pick Up or Feed Paper Issue The product does not pick up or feed paper from the paper tray. How to use the solutions in this document To resolve the issue, try each solution in this document in the order presented. c01733891.gif IMPORTANT : Each time you try a solution, try to print a self-test report to determine if the hardware is functioning correctly. To print a self-test report, use the steps in the following table. How to print a self-test report
  1. Load plain, white paper in the paper tray.
  2. Press and hold the Cancel button (c01235250.gif ) on the product control panel.
  3. While holding the Cancel button (c01235250.gif ), press the OK button (c01961874.gif ). The self-test report prints.

  2. Make sure that all the paper is the same size and type.
  3. Tap the stack of paper on a flat surface to align the edges.

  8. Change any other print settings necessary, and then click OK .
  9. Click OK to print.
  10. Try to print a self-test report. See the steps on how to print a self-test report at the top of this document.

Roller no longer picks up paper

Hello,
Check to make sure that the rollers are not just sliding on the paper instead of gripping it. If this is the case, one thing you can try is to get some rubbing alcohol and cotton swab the rollers to make sure they are clean. Be sure to power down the copier first and unplug it.
Over time, the paper fibers build up on the rollers, and eventually, they get worn out. Cleaning them once in a while can prolong their lives and sometimes even revive "dead" rollers.
Also, let the alcohol dry before you try using the copier again.
Hope this helps!

More than piece it gets jammed

The problem is generally associated with the pickup roller ( roller that rotates and pulls the paper from the tray ), and the separation pad, ( a stationary cork like material.) It sounds like you need to replace both.. The concept is like wetting your two fingers to separate pages, except in this case it is a cork base and roller that do the work..

You can alternately try to rough up the cork very lightly with sand paper, and clean the roller. The pick-up roller should have some slight ribbing, and if it is all gone, a new roller is necessary. As a temporary fix is just that..temporary.
