After scanning a bar code I need it to enter and go to next row in excel

Hi,

This can be possible, therefore it is not an Excel setting. You would need
to use the software that comes with your bar-code reader to configure this.

Try looking in your bar-code reader documentation for "Append Enter" or
"Append Carriage Return"

HOW DO I RESET A CORDLESS SCANNER HONEYWELL 3820?

I believe you can print the documentation and scan a bar code to reset the scanner. You can get the documentation here: http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/barcodescannersdiscount/3820UserGuide.pdf

Press CTRL+F and type "reset" to find sections on resetting the scanner.

I have a Honeywell 3800g tethered barcode reader that has been working fine on the same computer for approximately 3 weeks. It has been used to scan patient ID bar codes and drug NDC numbers in our...

It's a USB scanner. Maybe you accidentally scanned some rogue barcode that changed the default symbology to something that you can't use in Meditech. I would start troubleshooting basically with this. On the PC where it no longer reads into your Meditech software, try to remove and re-insert the USB cable on both ends - scanner and USB port. Next, ensure that the scanner's driver is set to use this HID (human interface device) as a keyboard emulation device. Next, get (or download and print) the manual for the device, because it has barcodes for changing scanning settings, symbologies, etc. Scan the barcode that says "Reset to default settings", then try scanning again. At this point, if you still cannot get a reading in the Meditech software, try to specify the correct symbology for your medication barcodes. If you still have issues, try a different USB port on the same PC. If still issues, try a different PC. If it works on Meditech on another PC, perhaps you need to update your Meditech version on the bad PC to match the version that works. If all else fails, exchange it for another one; perhaps it truly is defective. I hope you can get up and scanning again!

Edit: I just realized this scanner has more cables than just USB. Are you using a wedge? If so, what kind (PS/2, RS232 (serial) interface, etc.)? There is different troubleshooting for PS/2 and RS232.

Hi, i am trying to configure my barcode scanner LS2208 to put a {TAB} in when scanning

There should have been a sheet or book of bar codes that came with your scanner. These codes will allow you to program your scanner to do most anything, including adding a tab. You simply look at the bar codes and read what they do. you simply scan the one that adds a tab and it will forever add the tab unless you re program it.

If you have lost your book/bar code page, you should be able to go to the manufacturer website and download/print a document with the programmable bar codes.

Bar Code Used as Document Name

It's not really an issue with the scanner. The scanner will pick up the image and convert it to whatever you want, but your backend software is what you'll need to mess with for this. Any form recognition software will work (Form Storm, ABBYY FormReader, etc.)
