MY GUESS IS THAT YOU ARE NOT SEATING THE BELT PROPERLY BEFORE PUTTING THE NOZZLE BACK ON THE MACHINE. PLEASE FOLLOW MY GUIDE STEP BY STEP AND IT SHOULD SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM...
Take the nozzle of, remove the brush roll, put the a new belt over the brush roll, re-install and put the bottom plate on, making sure that the belt is in the middle of the brush roll. Turn the big knob on the front until it locks, when it grabs the belt it will be hard to turn. Re-install the nozzle on the machine and lock it down. Turn the knob again all of the way, this will release the belt unto the pulley.
Put the belt on the brush roll, place it in the nozzle, make sure the belt is in the center, turn the big knob on the front until it locks, then install the nozzle on the vac., turn the knob in the other direction, and it will be put on the pulley.
