Viper flash 5 times

I have a Viper 5704 alarm/ remote start system I'm installing on a manual tranny 2005 Chevrolet Colorado. When I try to initiate the remote start sequence before exiting the vehicle, I keep getting the 5 flashes of the park lights indicating the brake wire is active. Only problem is it's not. I relay isolated it just to be sure there isn't some trickle current, and tested that my relay operates only when the brake is pressed. it works as it should, but I continue to get this fault. The tach wire is connected are learned correctly, the neutral safety wire is connected to the emergency brake, the bake switch is not defective, there are no burnt out bulbs in the tail lights, and because of the relay there can't be any trickle current causing a faulty signal. If there was, the current would be obvious and measurable. Do I need anything other than the remote start module and bypass module for manual tranny vehicles? Something to bypass the clutch or something? I have no idea what can be causing this fault. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Bryan

SOURCE: driver's door won't unlock with remote

This may be a problem with wiring. I will need to know what the make and model is of the car. Also keyless entry system stock OEM or was that an option you have added? Lastly, did you install this system or was this installed by a cetified DEI corperation?

Thank you,
Luis

You will be best to connect the real tach wire. You will need to programme the alarm to recognise the speed of the engine, this way it will know where the idle position is.

SOURCE: Viper 5101 Manual Transmission - can't start

First off, is it in neutral? It can't engage the starter motor if it's in gear. Secondly, If it was professionally installed, why not just take it back and demand that they fix it?

Your wiring should somewhat match this.

I had the exact same problem. Disconnect your vehicle battery for 30 minutes. That fixed it for me.

I have a viper 791xv carstarter/alarm the battery had to be replaced on the car and the alarm works but the remote sart won't start the car on key pad it shows it 's start but then it beeps and is gone...

The parking light flashes are a diagnostic report to alert you to the reason the remote starter is not working:

5 flashes; brake wire is active
6 flashes; hood pin is active
7 flashes; manual transmission mode is enabled and not initialized
8 flashes; neutral safety wire has no ground or the switch is OFF.

Count the flashes and you will be able to go directly to the problem. Enjoy.
