Lenovo Touch pad Stopped working

If you're positive you didn't unplug or rip anything while installing new USB ports, trying checking/updating or rolling back the drivers for the touch pad. Installing new USB ports could have mis-configured something and disabled or modified your drivers for the touch pad.

Touch pad is not working properly

most likely your touch pad is just damaged. you might have to send it in for repairs so back up all your important info and try to check the warranty and see if your cover. Call the place where you bought it and see what they can do. Best of wishes

Mouse touch pad problem Lenovo Y410 model notebook

Just above my keyboard there is a little black strip with little lights.
they are control buttons and if you tap one of them it turns the touchpad off and on (so it's very easy to do accidentally).

If you look really closely at the strip in good light (or restart the laptop to see them flash on and off) you'll see that one looks like a touchpad crossed out. Just press this to get your touchpad back.

If it doesnt solve the problem, I have noticed that the touchpad can be knocked out by a Window Update of something called ideacom. If you believe this could be the problem please clarify.
