CODE= FP
STATUS = Freeze Protection Engaged. The room temperature measured by the wirelessremote thermostat or indoor ambient thermistor active sensor falls below 40°F.
SUGGESTED ACTION = No Action required. This setting will disengage when theroom temperature rises above 43°F

I know some manufacturer's use the code FP for Freeze Protection.

SOURCE: its 15 degrees outside and my amana unit is off.

fp means freeze protection.it comes on by it self so pipes in th house dont freeze.and if it only blows cold air one of the heat protectors is probaly bad

These codes signify black (F1) or yellow (F6) thermistor problems. May need replaced.

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

You have a defective compressor tripping the breaker or control card issue. The FP means you had a power failure, hence the breaker trip.

Their is nothing you can do. I do not think you have the equipment to repair or test the unit.

E1-22 indicates a problem with the Polygon Motor Sychronization....this is a problem in the laser unit either the Driver pcb is shorted or broken, the Laser unit pcb is defective, the laser unit itself could be defective.

FP is the code for frost or freeze protection. The unit will automatically do this periodically to prevent any damage caused by low temperatures although it should not be running as frequently as every five minutes. If the outside temperature is not low then it could either be a problem with the exterior thermistor (not the one you see from inside your room) or the control board could be on its way out.

I was wondering the same thing about our unit until I found the specs online and read that it has freeze protection. When the temp goes below 40 degrees, the fan comes on to prevent damage to the unit.
