Suggest you completely remove the printer from your system. The shut down the system, restart and reinstal the software that came with the printer. If it install completely with no problems you should be Ok to go. If not write back and with the info you can give on the removal the first time if it went ok and the reinstalation it it went OK. Also with the printer completly disconnected from your PC just plug the power cord into the wall and then put something on the scanner screen and see if you can make a copy of it by using the copy button. You should be able to make a black or color copy without your Pc hooked up.

Dell 942 AIO printer cartridge problem

Was your replacement cartridge a new dell product? If it was, the sensor on the prnter should recognize it as new and reset the indicator to full. If, however, the cartridge was refilled, remanufactured, or otherwise an off brand, the ink indicator will show it to be empty. Just ignore and use the printer as normal -- it will print just fine, but you may need to press the select button to get it to start printing the first page.
