Alternatively you can enter the unit (degree) in the function. Press [SHIFT][ANS] (DRG>] and select the degree unit). See screen capture

You get the same result as above. Note the degree symbols inside the function.

Sin, cos,tan don't work. For example, I click 1, 2nd and cos and I'm getting 1 instead of 0.54. In all other buttons the 2nd function is working but not for sin, cos, tan. Thanks for any help!

I wonder if your calculator is set to the wrong units. Your calculator can be set to degrees, radians, or gradians. I assume that you want it set to degrees.

When I click 1 2nd and cos, I will always get 0, because using the 2nd before the cos turns the function into cos^-1 (inverse cosine). The inverse cosine of 1 is 0 because the cosine of 0 is 1.

Good luck.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Use the identity tan(x/2)=sinx/1+cosx to solve for the value of tan45 degrees

tan(x/2)=sin(x)/(1+cos(x))
Setting x/2=45, means that x=90 (degrees)
But cos(90)=0 and sin(90)=1. Thus tan(45)=1/(1+0)=1.

Sin 43 degrees 30'

Press SIN 4 3 2ND [ANGLE] 1 3 0 2ND [ANGLE] 2 ENTER

2ND [ANGLE] 1 gives you the degrees symbol, 2ND [ANGLE] 2 gives you the minutes symbol. If you need seconds, use ALPHA ["] (on the + key).

Note that this usually won't give you an EXACT value, but only a ten-digit approximation.

How to draw a trig function (y=sin(theta)) on a Casio 9750 gii

The variable theta is reserved for polar plots. So if you want to graph functions of the form y= expression, you must use the default variable x. Thus draw y=sin(X). Make sure your calculator is configured with the correct angle unit (degree or radian).
If you use degrees the window dimensions for x must cover an interval of 360 degrees, to have a full period. If angle unit is radian, then choose an x-interval between [-pi and pi] or between [0 and 2pi]

Solve the following equation for the indicated value of x: y = 4 sin x; for x = pie

Since X = pi, (3.141592...) I'm going to assume the problem is in radians not degrees.
Substitute pi in for X in the first equation and you get y = 4 sin(pi)
The sin of pi radians is zero.
Therefore, y = 4 * 0 = 0

I hope this helps you out.

Where is the 2nd F key, to find the size of θ (to the nearest degree) where θ is acute. example question: sin θ = 0·259

The key is called SHIFT on Casio calculators. To get the arcsine of an angle you press [SHIFT][SIN], then enter the angle measure in the appropriate unit (degree in your case) and press ENTER. Your result should be 15.01073397 or 15, to nearest degree.

Why limit of sin x is 1, when x tends to 0 ?

Sin 0 = 0
Sin 90 = 1
Sin 180 = 0
Sin 270 = -1
Sin 360 = Sin 0 = 0

Is there an angle greater than 360???
Is there any greater value of Sine than 1 ???

Wrong answer produced in sin / cos problems?

5sin(x)+1 = 0 is the equation you want to solve?
so
5sin(x) = -1
sin(x) = -(1/5)
arcsin( sin(x) ) = arcsin( -(1/5) )
x = -.201 (radians)
x = -11.5369 (degrees)

1 + sinx = 2cos^2x

Hii..this can be done as follow

cos^2 x = 1 - sin^2 x--------(1)

2cos^2 x=1+ sin x
2cos^2 x - sin x -1=0
Substituting formula (1)
2(1 - sin^2 x) - sin x - 1 = 0
2sin^2 x + sin x - 1 = 0

Factor this
(2 sin x - 1)(sin x +1) = 0
2 sin x - 1 = 0 or sin x +1 = 0
sin x = 1, and sin x = -1
