I need advise how to remove the machines cover and get access to the driving belt. Alternatively please give me the link for a service/repair manual

There are three exposed screws on the bottom of the machine that can be removed with a Phillips screwdriver. You also need to remove two of the four rubber feet with a Phillips screwdriver. The other two rubber feet also need to be removed, but they have some kind of specialty screw that needs a split-head screwdriver. I just removed them by twisting the entire foot with a pair of pliers. Then the panel pops off fairly easily, and there's the belt. As an aside, the drive belt on mine kept coming off, and just putting it back on didn't help because it would just fall off again. It turned out that the whole bottom of the machine was bent, so the motor gear wasn't lining up with the drive gear. Not sure if this is fixable.

I have an American Harvest Bread Classic II. It sounds like it is working but the paddle doesn't spin. I can manually make it move and the drive shaft I can manually move, but it won't do it on...

your belt has probably broken, unplug your machine and turn it on its side and try to remove the bottom panel. Usually held on my phillips head screws. If your belt has snapped then you will need to replace it. I have never heard of American Harvest machines so it might be difficult to find a replacement. I have good used machines for sale if you are interested. My email is [email protected]

My sunbeam breadmaker will not mix the dough. The detachable mixing arm on the bottom won't spin. I had to quickly mix the dough and put it back in to bake

If you are feeling handy unplug your machine, turn it on one side and remove the bottom panel with a phillips head screwdriver. You may find your drive belt has come off or broken. If that is the problem you may be able to find a replacement for it from Sunbeam, or I may have one that will fit it.

My washer wont spin or agitate and there was a burning smell

Hi
Older top load washers use a belt to drive to transfer the energy from motor to drum. However, if the belt slips, stretches, or breaks, it can cause friction and a burning smell, most likely a burning "rubber" smell. The belt is located either from the back access panel or from the underside of the washer. The solution is to replace the belt with a new one. To replace the belt you can open the back lid of the washer
To replace the belt carefully pry up on front washer top to release plastic keeper pins, remove 2 Phillips screws from beneath lower front washer panel, slightly lift upward on panel to release. Now remove old broken belt, push new belt beneath large tub pulley and put belt on small motor pulley. After this push back belt tension /idler arm, start belt on large tub pulley, turn tub pulley by hand to run belt on, release tension on idler arm. Replace front panel and lower top.
Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

No spin agitate or drain just motor noise

The noise coming from the motor means it is running but cannot drive the drive pulley and the pump pulley because the drive belt is either broken or has slipped off. The drive pulley and the pump are driven by a single belt. Replace the drive belt if broken or loose and has slipped off. Disconnect power then drain the water manually by placing the end of the drain hose into a bucket or a shallow basin. Position the bucket/basin as low as possible to extract as much water from the tub. Once drained, lay the machine on its back to access the belt under the machine. When replacing the belt, wrap it on the motor and the pump pulleys then on the drive pulley. Turn the drive pulley in such a way that the belt wraps around the motor pulley, pump pulley, and the drive pulley.

Why won't the Kenmore top loading washing machine agitate?

There are two types of Kenmore top loading washing machines. The direct drive models and the belt drive models. Direct drive models do not have a back access panel and the water inlet valve is located on the left side viewed from the rear while belt drive models do have back access panel and the water inlet valve is located on the right side viewed from the rear.

The most common problem causing a top loading machine not to agitate, particularly when the motor seems running, is a broken motor coupler for direct drive models and a broken or worn out drive belt for belt drive models.

The best way to exactly determine the cause is to access the drive motor. Open the back access panel for belt drive models and check the drive belt. Check the drive motor if it is running, humming or stuck.

Please indicate the model number of the washing machine if it is a direct drive model for the procedure in accessing drive motor.

I need to replace the belt on my Miele washing machine. Can you tell me how to do it?

Open the washing machine's back access panel.Depending on the make and model of your washing machine, you may need a screwdriver to unscrew the screws that hold the panel up.Locate the washing machine's drive belt.It will be in clear view, detach the old drive belt.Use the screwdriver to unscrew the pump coupling. Then gently slide the old belt off of the drive belt notch. If the belt is broken,be careful not to leave any pieces in the washing machine's interior. Slide the new washing machine drive belt over the drive belt pulley in the machine.Carefully stretch the belt up and over the second pulley before releasing.Use the screwdriver to re-attach the pump coupling.Test the drive belt's tension. If it is looser, tighten the pulleys to increase the belt's tension.Replace the access panel and resume using your washing machine.
