No, the C2000T does not have 5GHz capabilities. It instead uses different channels (up to 4) and associated SSIDs. You can prevent users from accessing the modem and place limits on access, including internet speed.

Okay, Centurylink installed the technicolor C2000T. Does this split the freq. into 2.4 and 5 GhZ? The tech didn't know or didn't want to convey an answer and googling it didn't give me any results to the q.
I want to split my net work for guests and my own use, is this possible with this unit?

Looks like the IP was incorrect.

Type 192.168. 1.1 (the most common IP for Technicolor routers) in the address bar of your web browser to access the router's web-based user interface. You should see 2 text fields where you can enter a username and a password. The default username for your Technicolor router is admin.

My Technicolor Modem has a built-in router, but it sends out a weak signal. Can I connect an external router in-line between the existing modem/router and my computer? If so, how?

just plug it in and use its wifi signal instead the old router.
