I have a sony kf42we610, 2004 model. The picture is scrambled on all inputs, but the sound is just fine. Seems as though everything is working except the picture! I've tried some basic maintenance such as checking to make sure the connections that are easily accessible inside the back panel are all seated tightly, but am at a bit of a loss from that point as I don't really know what most of the things I'm looking at back there are! Any suggestions, or is it just shot?
I would think its a T-con bard fault its the main board for the screen over time they ware out from heat. this control the picture for the screen. they can go in many ways, black screen mixed or shadows even star screen and scramble type screen. and white lines and even half working only.

You likely have bad solder connections around the tuner area. This model has a history of problems in that area or the tuner itself.

I have the same TV and the same problem, I take out the block of colours red, green and blue (the blue colour is broken) and I went to the electronic supplies for ask the price and they don't sell just the little blue mirror (blue pixel), they sell all block for $2,050.00 dollars. It's the price for a new one
