Even if the pix appears to be "OK", the internal convergence

alignment (in servicer mode) must be accurate within certain

parameters for the Touch Focus function to complete w/o error.

Adjustments should be done in "Full" mode,both HD & regular

signal.

Also,check micro fuses F851,F852,etc.
and with a good digital meter, check resistors feeding B+ to
convergence circuit.
I have been using Stk392-110T made by Toshiba with no re-calls.Hitachi also has an upgrade IC.
And be sure to check your soldering of IC pins--good connect,
with no short.....T.

This set uses two STK-392-110 convergence IC chips; both need to be replaced and any of the resistors around them(usually low value between 1.5 and 2.7 ohm) all need to be checked with a multimeter(like checking a fuse).

YOU can buy both chips on Ebay for less then 13 dollars plus shipping(look for Sewsales----called Surburban electronics- they have the best price and give a 6 month warranty on the parts.

After the chips are replaced(you need to unsolder both) apply heat sink grease to both of the new ones and solder them in. If you need more help with this let me know here--the hard part of this repair is getting at them to unsolder and remove them.

If you cannot do this repair yourself, look in your area--usually a good tech can do this repair right in your home--some shops are charging 300 or more for this repair--I do it here for 200-250 in home for most sets.

After the chips are replaced the set needs to be adjusted with the original remote---MAKE sure if you get someone to do this for you that they change BOTH of the chips.

200-250 is a price that you could not replace the set for--This is the slow time of year for most TV shops--shop around and if they want to 'TAKE IT TO THE SHOP" KEEP looking.

The convergence ICs and the six 1.8 ohm 1watt resistors need to be replaced. You can get the convergence repair kit for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com which has the Two Convergence ICs and the six resistors plus the CD with instructions on how to do the repair.

This tv have a problems known as a Convergence problems,it dead.The tv convergence board the 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors are dead.This parts must be replaced to solved the convergence board problems.The shop will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.
