I have a GFC525F and that mounting ring is like glue on that disposal. WD40 does nothing. I was just told that BLASTER from Autozone should work! You need more than a lube. You need a catalyst Remover. I will have to have good ventilation because there are tons of dangerous warnings listed on the can, but this may work.. I will try it soon!!!!! I may try while still attatched to pipes to assist small plastic ring that locks under sink but i don't want to break the pipes. I really hope this works...i may go with another brand if i get this disposal off. I DONNOT LIKE GE MOUNTING RING WITH TIGHTENING EARS!!!!! Too much trouble!!!!

Try some wd40 or a lube of some kind.
Usually it is on very tight to prevent movement.

What are the advantages of garbage disposal units?

There are a lot of advantages to installing a garbage disposal in your kitchen. Here are just a few of them.

1. It saves time
First off, it saves time. There's nothing more annoying than having to scrape off the little bits of leftovers of every single dish one by one before you wash them. With a garbage disposal unit, you don't have to.

2. Less wastage
As your unit will break up the leftovers into tiny pieces, there is less wastage to worry about and your trash can will stay empty for longer.

3. More hygienic
By breaking up your garbage so it passes through your plumbing, little bits of food won't get stuck in your pipes. This is more hygienic and will help you to avoid nasty odors

4. Better for your plumbing
Obviously, this is the main benefits. The best garbage disposal units will ensure you have no more blockages! Click here for more information.

5. Save money
Even though you have to pay for the unit itself, you'll save money on food bags, the costs of which add up over years of use.

How to remove plastic cover from Kenmore disposer model 17567540

Usually, disposals are not a repairable item.
The loose shredder plate is integral with the motor shaft so they cannot come loose unless the disposal needs replacement.
