Compaq Evo Network Driver On and Off working

Same problem.....I needed to re-install Windows XP after a disk crash on a Compaq Evo. A number of drivers are not available after the installation, amongst them the Ethernet network driver (controller seems to be on the motherboard). Tried to download all 3 network drivers on the HP driver page.... Read more

I downloaded the Intel(R) PRO/100 VM Network Driver, connected once and now it does not connect again after reboot.

If you have access to another system, go to http:\\www.belarc.com and download a free copy of Belarc Advisor. Copy this to a disk or flash drive and install it on the machine in question. This will give you the specific driver that you need to download from intel for your network card. Then go to http:\\www.intel.com and download it.

After installing Windows, you need to install the Compaq Evo device drivers, which include the audio driver.
You can download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP orVista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Click onthis link to download the drivers: -

This should work.

And just to add that your system specs are really old and you should think about upgrading. 128 mb ram upgradable to 2 gigs.

Integrated 4x agp graphics...you should be able to install a new agp graphics card.

Or you should buy a new computer if you dont know how to build your own which can be tricky and expensive if you cant reuse many parts.
