QuoraThere is a gear within an analog watch that is used to change the date at the appropriate time. The gear ... Watches: What is a fair price for a authentic 1970's vintage "McQueen" Rolex Explorer II? Why does the day start at midnight?
The date change occcurs at 12 O'clock but your watch is set so that it changes at 12 noon rather than 12 midnight. This is easy to correct, simply wind your watch on 12 hours and it will change at midnight.
You change the date the same way you change the time. The only difference being pull the crown out 1/2 way to the first click instead of all the way out.
Unscrew the crown like you are setting the time. Make sure the time shown on the watch is not around 12 o'clock. If it is change the time to around 6 o'clock.
Then pull the crown out to the first click. Turn the crown to advance the date. When finished push the crown back in and screw it down tight.
If you pull out crown carefuly, you will notice there are two clicks. The first one is for adjusting calendar (day or/and date). Next one is for moving hands. Pull out to the first click and adjust the date by turning the crown.
if it has hands the winder will be screwed in undo this anti clockwise then click it out once for date twice for time, if this helps please rate me joe
You have to unscrew the knob first then you will be able to pull it out to change the minutes, hours, date. You may have to use a pair of small pliers to initially turn the knob.
