Less than 10 years old most likely problem is the capacitor. A lightening strike near by or other power surge can zap it. At any age if a new capacitor doesn't fix it and it's wired right the motor is probably bad.

Outside unit will only run for a short amount of time with A/C before the fan stops turning and starts humming, squealing/screeching and the top of the outside unit gets hot.

The bearings are bad in the motor and after the fan runs enough it eventually gets hot, making the bearing screech and the fan locks up. Need to replace motor again. See if it has a warranty. The reason it gets hot is because the fan is what removes the heat from the coil and if the fan isn't running there is nothing to cool it off so to speak.

THE FAN IN THE OUTSIDE UNIT IS NOT WORKING. INSIDE UNIT RUNS BUT NO COOL AIR IS COMING OUT OF VENTS. IS THERE A REST BUTTON OLN THE OUTSIDE UNIT?

either the fan has went out or the capisitor for the fan is bad and needs to be replaced.if you have run the outside unit very long without the fan turning you might be replacing the compressor as well as the fan or capisitor.if the fan isnt pulling air through the cond coil outside, the compressor gets very hot very fast, and it locks down(burns up). get it looked at asap before it cost more because of other broken parts caused by the fan not working.

AC compressor wiil not turn on

You will have to find the contactor which is located in the outside unit. And check the voltage at the contactor, 26 v as this is the thermostat calling for the compressor to come on. You can also push in the contactor and see if the fan and compressor start. There should be an outside fuse box close to your condensing unit. Good luck

Can i run the fan on my inside unit if the outside unit is not working

You should be able to run the fan on the inside unit if the outside one isn't working. If you're worried, turn off the circuit breaker for the outside unit. If you don't know why the outside unit isn't working, check the circuit breaker at the breaker panel, check the breaker inside the box that electrically connects to the outside unit, and check the outside unit for a reset button.

Panasonic air conditioning model no cu-v9ckp5 inside unit switches on but no fan operation outside unit starts then after approx 1 min whole thing shuts down again

The outside unit has a fan capacitor and it must be faulty!!! thae capacitor tells the fan to rotate and if the fan does not work then the compressor will shut down due to a high head pressure and temperture!! change the capacitor located in the electrical section of the outside unit and it should work fine...

Fan

Hi wild 36.
I think the problem may be a bad run capacitor. If the outside unit is humming with no action, that may be it.

This could also cause the outside unit circuit breaker to trip.
