Not Protecting properly.

08-09 is 1 year it is now half way through 2010 and your aoftware licence expired in Jan 09

Please unconfuse me and perhaps apply a rating that reflects the magnitude of calculating i had to do to get this sorted

Norton Antivius subsriptions last generally for 1 year unless you buy a 2 or 3 yr plan. The best thing to do is open your Norton antivirus software it will tell you what is protected and what is not. Click on Norton account and it will have an option to renew your subscription, heres a link to make it easier

Norton is a very difficult software as well as a Hog... it can slow down your system anyway.
AVG is a Leader Globally... they have a Free Version and a Paid Version. The Paid Version is nice... you get a firewall and a web browser protection package.
If you are keeping you system updated and you maitenance regularly the free version will work. If you have several people on the system... kids primarily... I would purchase the full package.

Avast antivirus is totally free and it updates automatically more often than Norton.

what is your product?? norton antivirus or norton internet security... why you cannot activate the product?? what error do you encounter when you activate your product?

1. Yes, uninstall before installing any other antivirus program or security suite. Your computer (and you) will be happier.
2. Once you uninstall the trial version of Norton, go ahead and download One Care. I've heard some good things about it, but haven't used it personally or seen it installed on a client's computer.
3. Symantec/Norton has made improvements to their software uninstalls. If you have a newer version of Norton installed, it should cleanly uninstall from the Add/Remove programs area. If it's older, you may have issues getting it to uninstall - leaving remnants as you mentioned. Symantec has help removing their software completely on their support site if you need help.
