Yeah, it's total cake. look up under the glove box. there's a cover. take that off and there it is. unbolt (if there are bolts), some of them only have a little tab you press and just turn the whole fan out with no tools.

2006 gmc sierra fan wont work replaced blower resistor still won't work

Check for voltage on the fan itself- if the voltage is there then the fan motor could have cause the resistors to overheat due to it's drawing too much current. Oil the bearings with Tri Flow oil and they will spin much better- the trouble is you need to get the fan out to service it.
You can oil and recondition the Commutator and renew the fan if the brushes are not worn out if you have it on the bench.

My 2006 GMC sierra 1500 heater fan stopped working. It started about 6 months ago when the high speed stopped working, now none of the speeds works.

This is your blower motor regulator. It is under the glove box and behind the blower motor itself. They are cheap to purchase but a pain in the rear side to replace. Hope this can help you out sir.

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 EXT cab. In early summer this year the #5 (highest) fan speed quite working on the blower. Now the fan does not come on at all. I have replaced the HVAC control with a new...

I would get the fan motor itself checked out. #5 position is where the current goes straight to the motor, that being burnt out indicates a burnt motor to me, or the resistor is fried. But I think the resistor is either in the motor or the controller, so either way, do check the fan.

I have a 2006 GMC sirrea 1500 pickup for about three weeks my air condiction it come then when it gey it turn off is it the blower motor?

if you do not hear the blower motor blowing it is possible. If it moves air but isn't cold the it would be in the compressor but if it doesn't move air at all id be inclined to say that yes it is the blower motor.
