Hi,

Solution 1) Press Hold/Sleep & hold buttons at same time for 20 seconds, This may fix you problem.

If problem is still alive follow solution 2

Solution 2) Press Hold/Sleep & hold buttons at same time for 10 sec. & then leave only Hold/Sleep button keep home button pressed & connect you ipod to PC, That means you have to bring your ipod in DFU mode (Recovery mode) Check out this video for getting ipod touch in DFU mode http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bITIiGswjFI
. itune must be run on PC.
It will ask you for restore. Accept Restore you ipod touch request by itune. Wait for few minutes while ipod being restored.

This process will solve your problem 100%. I have solved same problem for ipod touch. Follow this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQk4-krrNVk

Solution 2) worked for me. I held down both buttons, then released the Sleep/Wake button while continuing to hold the Home button and plugging in the iPod touch into my desktop. iTunes prompted me to restore the iPod as described above. Great job!

To reset iPod touch, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds. During this time, a red "power off" slider may appear and the screen may go black, but do not release Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.
iPod touch is not working as expected, it may be due to some of the content synced to it. Try selectively removing certain content that may be causing unexpected behavior such as contacts, calendars, songs, photos, videos, or podcasts.
To remove content, connect iPod touch via USB and use iTunes to change the sync settings. Click on iPod touch in the Source list, and select each tab to change what content is synced then click apply.
If this does not solve your problem, you may need a repair professional. We can help at http://techrestore.com should you need further assistance.

Re-start you device by pushing and holding simultaneosly the "home button" and the "on/off button" the white apple will appear and disappear, then appear a second time- at that point let go of the two buttons and that may solve your problem. I have fixed an IPod Touch that way (-: Good luck!

SOURCE: Ipod touch stuck with apple logo on screen and doing nothing

Open Itunes on your computer. Unplug ipod.
Turn Ipod off (with sleep/wake and home button).
Hold home button down and simultaneously plug in the Ipod again.
Keep holding it (home) until the screen is an apple with a usb underneath it (Itunes sign).
Then in Itunes choose restore your Ipod.

If it's jailbroken, go through the Jailbreak process again.

My iphone 3Gs is not starting up and is stuck on apple logo. Please help

Do a hard reset.
  1. Press-hold the Home button (big circle below the screen) and the Sleep/Wake button (on top of the iPhone) simultaneously.
  2. Continue holding both buttons (Ignore the "Slide to power off") until the iPhone shuts off and begins to restart.
  3. You may let go when you see the silver Apple logo.
  4. You have completed a hard reset successfully.
  5. Don't be alarmed that it takes quite a while to load from the Apple logo to the main screen. This is normal.
If this does not work, put into recovery mode and restore from itunes.
Step One
Open iTunes and connect the iPhone to your Mac.

Step Two
Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time.

Step Three
As soon as the screen goes black release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.

Tried to erase all data, iphone froze at the apple

Turn iphone off. Power on holding power and home at same time for 10 seconds, then release power button but hold home for another 30 seconds. Screen will stay blank but should be in DFU recovery mode. Plug into iTunes and recover.
