As I'm watching Verizon FIOS cable (with HD box and DVR, the picture and sound will go off completely for 1-2 seconds, then return. This has been happening on and off since I purchased the TV in Feb, 09. Verizon has changed everything in signal path (except old coax cable from Time Warner) and checked signals. DVR does not record this even, picture and sound continues from DVR playback when it had been dropped watching it live. Have not seen this with other non-HDMI sources nor has it been observed on non-HD channels. TV retailer is sending a tech to house next Saturday to check TV.
The only thing that i can think of is that the cables and connections are bad but if that is not the case it may be the internal components of the tv. my guess is that the tv was dropped or jumbled around while transported and what happened was internal components were broken or just mixed up so go to the retailer and get a refund or a new tv. hope this helps
