The issue you are experiencing with your Olympus all-weather 700 camera, where lines appear across the screen when attempting to take a photo, could be related to a problem with the camera's sensor or image processing.
Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
Clean the lens: Make sure the lens is clean and free of any debris or smudges. If necessary, use a lens cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth to clean the lens.
Check the camera's settings: Make sure that the camera is set to the appropriate resolution and image quality settings.
Try different memory cards: Try using a different memory card to see if the problem is related to the card itself.
Make sure that the camera firmware is up to date.
Check for physical damage: If the camera is not under warranty and you have the technical knowledge, it is possible to check the sensor and internal processing for any physical damage.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be best to contact Olympus customer support for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose and fix the issue or tell you if a repair is needed.
It's important to note that the Olympus all-weather 700 is an older model camera, which makes it harder to find replacement parts and professional repair services.
Hi,
Click Here and the User Manual for Olympus Camedia C-700 will get downloaded to your computer. Good luck and have a nice day. Rating the solution is highly appreciated.
The SP-700 does not allow you to take photos in black&white. It will let you convert color photos to black&white, however. See the "Editing Still Photos (REDEYE FIX/BLACK&WHITE/SEPIA" section in the advanced manual (page 78 in my copy).
If you need a manual, you can get one from the manufacturer at http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_support_manuals.asp?id=1196

Yes there is an option to turn the sound off, so you can take up less space on the memory card. Try turning to the video clips on the dial then push the menu button for options!
