No picture or sound after replacing lamp

Lamp needed replacement.  Changed lamp and TV still does not work.  No picture or sound, just a buzzing noise.  When on button is pushed the TV acts as if it is going to start up but only buzzes and makes a squealing noise.  After it tries to start up and doesn't happen, then it sounds like it tries to shut itself off and then tries starting back up again.  This continues for a minute or so and then finally does shut itself off showing all three lights again (timer, power, standby/high temp).

We have a 46"Sanyo with the same problem. 6 months ago we
replaced the lamp with a brand new Phillips which is supposed to be the
best and good for 1-2 years. 6 months in, our tv shut down 2
nites ago and this is the exact problem we are having. The tech
guy at the lightbulb place said most likely NOT the bulb and he said
the power supply. I can't believe on a set that is not even 2
years old this Xmas that I have to replace the power supply
already. I am not calling in service yet. What does a defective
color wheel look like? Or is ballast most likely issue to look
    at?

Possible bad color wheel...

Pull the lamp out & look inside where the lamp sends the light-

does the color wheel look defective? If so,replace it.

Or, the lamp ballast may be bad. After that, usually replace

complete engine.

My Sony Grand Vega (KDF-E50A10) LCD just made a loud pop sound and now there is no picture. The only sounds are a loud buzzing coming from the back....is this a burned out lamp??

Yes, loud pop sound was broken lamp in tv, replacement of lamp will fix tv problem.
Lamp replacement procedure is easy and would be written in user manual.
Please buy Sony original lamp for good picture in tv.
Thanks.

My samsung 42 inch hdtv is making a buzzing noise

First. The whirring or buzzing sound you hear is the Color Wheel and it needs to be replaced. Second, since I do not know when and if the original lamp has been replaced it is a good idea to replaced the lamp. The bad Color Wheel is the one causing the set to shut down.

Mitsubishi WD-65733 no picture, electrical buzzes in series

What it sound's like is that the lamp ballast is the problem. Buzzing sounds like when the power is first brought to the ballast it has to ramp up the voltage to get the lamp to light, then the voltage drops back down when the lamp is lit. Sounds like the lamp ballast isn't ramping up the voltage the way it should. May have to replace it. A good service shop would be able to do this for you.

My Sony lost its picture and had a flashing light. Unplugging for 36 hours solved the problem.

Loud Buzzing Sound

since you changed the lamp my next thought is that the color wheel has failed,,,most good road techs can replace it in the home..the cost would be between 220.00 and 350,00 depending on the company...

Buzzing noise, sound but no picture

It sounds as if the lamp needs to be replaced. The buzzing sound you hear is the ballast attemting to fire the lamp.
