Blackberry curve keyboard light wont turn off

Your trackball and the keyboard seems not working. You may need a replacement for both parts.

I've purchased items from Truesupplier.com before and they provide excellent service.
You'll need to purchase another keyboard/housing and a trackball for your phone.
You'll need a T6/T4 screwdriver. This can be bought from Lowe's/Home Depot.
There are several videos on youtube that show the replacement of your housing.
This is the easiest way to fix your keyboard and trackball.

Try this.
Click on options, Screen / keyboard ,
Make sure brightness is set to 100 %

It might be set to zero?

You need to go into "Options" then "Screen/Keyboard" and change your Backlight Timeout settings.

Make small changes in the settings.
Go to options
Screen and keyboard
change the trackball sensitivity to 90 percent horizontally.
press Menu and click on save.

To turn on the automatic backlighting on a BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

1. Click Options.
2. Click Screen/Keyboard.
3. Click Change Option in the Automatic Backlight field.
4. Click On.
5. Click Save from the Screen/Keyboard menu to turn on the automatic backlighting.

Under screen/keyboard option there is an area for trackball sensitivity both horizontal and vertical...Increase both and you should be fine.

Please change the sensitivity, to change the sensitivity follow the below steps

1. select option in the main menu
2. select Screen Keyboard
3. set the horizontal/vertical sensitivity as 100%

You can go into setting and change the settings so the backlight stays on longer. But the back light Does come on when you first switch the device i.e. take battery out and back in.
