The solution is the upper strut mounting plate. To fix it you need to take out the strut tower and take apart the strut. The faulty part is the plate that has the 3 studs that actually mount the top of the strut to the frame. You may want to also plan on replacing the strut as well, when i took mine apart, the strut piston wouldnt go back into the strut body, that means its shot. Also if one side needs this done the other probably does too. The upper strut mount is about 20 bucks only from a dealer and the strut is about 60 from any auto parts store. hope this helps

I just had my 2007 Volvo S40 right front wheel bearing replaced. However, there is still a roaring noise coming from the front of the car when I turn the wheel to the right. My mechanic told me that...

Turning to the right changes the load on the left, but that
isn't the problem

The problem is poor diagnoses & failure to replace both
wheel bearings when one fails

After all-- they both have the same mileage on them

Clunking Sound

could be all sorts of different things!
I would lean towards something common(Given the age of your vehicle)
something like strut mounts, or possibly control arm bushings. depending on the loudness of the noise

I need help with my 1994 pontaic grand am. I just bought the car and it has a terrible clunking noise in the front mostly when I turn the wheel. What could this be? Could it be tie rod, cv joints, shocks or...

Jack up the wheel and see if it has play up and down and left and right. Have someone watch inboard as you move it. A bad cluck will usually show itself.

The problem could be caused by a wheel bearing squeeling or the cv joint squeeling.

Clunking noise coming from upper passenger side when I hit a bump.

If you aren't afraid of jacking up the vehicle, you can test to see where the problem is coming from. Jack the vehicle up by the pinch well (most newer cars have grooves cut out or that can be popped out behind the front wheels). When the wheel is in the air, try moving it side to side, then up and down. Excessive side to side movement indicates a tie rod end, up and down indicates a ball joint, and all around indicates a wheel bearing which would also be a cause for the clicking sound you are hearing.

Most auto shops will check this for you free of charge when you get an oil change, since they're trying to sell you things anyway.

2002 chrysler mini van front end noisy .when you hit a bump.what

I had the same problem with my 2002 Town and Country Limited. I took it to the mechanic and had the sway bar links and ball joints replaced and still had the same clunking noise when going over bumps at low speeds. The van sounded great on the highway, but country roads were horrible. I was about to replace the struts and pay another 700 dollars when i read somewhere that the sway bar bushings could wear and cause the noise. I took it to the mechanic and he said absolutely not it would be a waste of money. Being the stubborn guy I am, I went to NAPA and bought the two bushings for 12 dollars and replaced them myself in an hour. I took the van for a test ride and the noise is completely gone. Please ignore your mechanic and replace the bushings ASAP! Pretty cheap try even if it doesn't work.

Clunking noise while turning/hitting bumps

Hay I would check your sway bar in the front .The bal may have came out of the seat located under front wheel well. Also they could be just loose. Check by rocking your jeep side to side .
