My Acer is 16 months old and the speakers stopped working. I have unplugged them and replugged and there is not even a notice of new hardware. So that must mean the drivers are somewhere. I also have no sound on the monitor its self. I have very limited knowledge of computers.

I just purchased an Acer AX1700-U370 computer. Hooked it up and everything worked except the sound. The speakers worked 10 seconds then nada - no sound. I've checked the settings - all seem fine. Power is on, the connections are okay - but no sound period.

I had my computer cleaned off and rebooted and it works fine now. A professional did it but someone with no fear of computers might just have the start up disc and go for it.

OK Guys! I had the same problem and I went messing around and figured it out! Hopefully this will help you all!
I have Windows Vista on an Acer computer.

Click control panel.
Click Sound.
You should see your speakers connection there.
It may say Not Connected.
Go to the back of your computer and plug the jack into each hole for the speakers. When you plug it into the correct hole, your speakers will come up with a check mark by them in the Sound window!
Then reboot your computer and VIOLA!
I really hope this helped! I know I was getting very flustered with this!

Because the idiots in the computer business decided to NOT PUT a Getting Started manual with their computers like they did with my Win'98, they saved money. But caused a lot of time consuming work by the owners of a new computer. They didn't save anything except, caused a lot of agrivation. And they gave me ONE sheet of info for my Acer M5630

Are you sure you have connected the Speaker pin to the right socket?
On most motherboards, the Speaker pin is connected to the topmost socket.

Also, check the controls on the speakers. Make sure that the volume button on the speakers in turned on to produce the desired sound.

No sound from speaker acer aspire computer. Which are the correct slots I have a usb connection and a headphone type connector, type m1118b

Look down in the right corner of your sreen and find a small speaker icon. If you click on that icon it will show you if your speakers are muted, this happens sometimes by malware acting up and muting your speakers. If you right click on it it will tell you some more information. If you go into your control panel you have an icon that lets you do many more things with your sounds.

Have a dell computer with acer plug in speakers which are not playing or showing as being connected, don't have a disk for the speakers is there somewhere i can download the information i need, speakers...

Try connecting the speakers to a different computer, to see if the speakers work at all.

It's 100% "normal" for the speakers to *NOT* be "detected" by the computer -- the speakers simply are _NOT_ a "plug-and-play" device; there are just "dumb" electro-mechanical units.

There _never_ is a need for a "disk" for speakers;
you never need instructions on how to use a pencil, either. :-)

I have an acer cpu connected to my hp monitor with built in speakers...but I have no sound?

That is a common problem. You need to purchase some new speakers from your local Radio Shack or computer store.Plug them into your cpu. Very cheap fix about $10. The mix and match connection of the HP and Acer never seems to work. The HP monitor will work with the Hp computers but not others.

I am having speaker problems.

Hi, the speakers won't make a difference. if your sound drivers are gone you need to know what sound card you have or what integrated sound card you have. You will also need to know what operating system you are utilizing. What you can do is go to start, settings control panel, system, click on the hardware tab, click device manager, scroll down to where you see something with sound listed. Right click on that, and click "scan for hardware changes" It should find drivers for your sound card if not list the model of your computer and I'll do some research =) Good luck!
