I have a Maytag MAV6000AWW top loading washing machine. Sometimes the washing machine works fine but other times it will fill and then when the next cycle is supposed to start the machine just stops and the clothes sit in the tub with the water in it. If I rotate the timer around a few times and try to start the machine again it will usually start up and complete the remainder of the cycles with no issues. I am thinking the problem is with the time (dial assembly) but not certain. Looking for help, thanks.
Yes it would be the timer but they also stop if it gets off balance if its just off balance u should be able to lift the lid rearrange then start it again if that doesnt work it is the timer
Has been stopping consistently just before the spin cycle.
I have found that re-balancing the load inside first and then rotating the Cycle Dial 2-4 times before starting the Washer again at the beginning of the Rinse Cycle does the trick... Sometimes I need to slam the cover, but it seems to do the trick when all else fails.
Good Luck!
