I purchased BA II Plus Texas Instruments Calculator in 2010. But, now I am facing a problem with the calculator. Instead of 0.0000 being the default values, the calculator is taking default value of 0.0070. I have tried resetting the calculator but to no vain. I have even tried to change the display to two decimal places, but the display has changed from 0.0070 to 0.7. If I am entering 2 as a value, its being shown as 2.70 instead of 2. Kindly guide me in rectifying this problem

SOURCE: No decimal display on TI BA-II calculator

Your BA II PLUS stores numeric values internally to an accuracy of 13 digits. However, the numbers it displays depends on the number of decimal places to which you have it set (choice of 0–9 or floating decimal). To set the number of decimal places displayed to three: hit [2ND][FORMAT][3][ENTER]This setting also continues indefinitely (even though the calculator is turned off and on) until it is changed.

Hello,
It seems to me that you are omitting a step: see screen capture from manual (step 4). Hope it helps.

SOURCE: Hi, are there MC, MR, M-, M+ functions in Texas

The calculator has 10 memories (0 to 9)
To store a number (13) in memory 6 type 13 [STO] 6
To erase the content of memory 6 (M6) store 0 in int: 0 [STO] 6
To recall the content of memory location M7 press [RCL]7

To operate on the content of memory location M5 the syntax is [STO] [Op] 5, where [Op] is the operation symbol [+], [-],[x], [/] [y^x]

Ex: to raise the content of memory location 4 to the power of the displayed value, you press [STO][Y^x] 4

To clear all 10 memory locations
press [2nd][MEM][2nd][CLR WORK]

In short, although you do not have the keys you are accustomed to, you have a lot more. And please do not blame me if you feel disappointed.

The calculator is defective or it has been subjected to a hacking procedure. In the first case, resetting it does not seem to correct the problem, and there is nothing anybody can do about it. It should be replaced.

Calculator format is 0.00

By default the calculator is set to display two digits after the decimal point (for dollars and cents). If you'd rather have no digits after the decimal point, press 2nd [FORMAT] 0 .

Alternatively, you can press 2nd [FORMAT] 9 for floating decimal.

I need to be able to quickly turn a decimal into a fraction using the BA II plus calculator from Texas Instruments

The BA-II Plus is designed for financial applications. It does not do fractions, as do some calculators intended for school use.

Sorry if that wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.
