You probably were using the trial version of the software. You have to buy Office 2007 to get a Product Key. The product key sticker should be located on the back of the plastic slide out tray of the MS Office Box.

Usually a trial version of 2007 is given with every laptop after the trial period 2007 asks for product key. you have to buy the key from microsoft, or other partners selling the product or you can uninstall the product and use another version you already have.

That product key is actually for your Windows operating system.

The Microsoft Office Pro that you have there is a trial version. Usually 30-60 days trial period. You have to buy the product with a valid product key separately.

if you bought the lappie new the product serial number should already have been activated. if you installed office yourself from a product that you bought then you need to enter the product key inside the box in order to use the product

Just contact with the shop you bought the notebook to register the windows your bought with the notebook.

u can contact ur friend(whom to buy) ask to a new code. that person is registered with manufacturer website so he only ask a key using that account
