Water drains into fruit bin. not drain hole.There is no blockage in drain hole that I can see.F/F Liebherr premium model

I am pretty sure you are having a defrost by CouponDropDown">drain blockage problem. Most defrost every eight hours and over a period of time the drain line that comes down from freezer into a cup like object top middle and back of the fresh food section. If blocked by gunk or ice you will see trails of liquid leaking down the rear wall of fresh food compartment until it reaches the crisper drawers.This is not always the same with every model as you may see frozen ice flowing down ther rear wall of freezers on side by sides. The key is to find if ice or just gunk has blocked you defrost drain. Unplug and then remove the rear panel in back of freezer. Too high of water pressure letting in more water then it can drain off. Try turning down the water first

It has a clogged drain tube and bottom trays is already full.
De-clogged it using a solid wire, match enough to penetrate the drain tube.
Insert solid wire slowly to the drain tube, back and forth.
Put water to clean and rinse drain tube.
Regularly check drain tube for clogged and tray for full water.

Hi Bob. First off let me say that a clogged compartment drain with ice in it can be a real pain. Portable hair dryers don't work because the water insulates the ice. You may not like the answer here but this is several decades of hands on exerience speaking. So here goes......

1. Unplug the unit.
2. Empty the contents of the freezer
3. Place a fan blowing into the freezer section for well over 2 hours.
(THIS MAKES A MESS so be ready with rags and a mop)

4. Get yourself a single strand of #14 gage household electrical wire with insulation. Strip the end of the wire about 1 inch on the very end of the wire, fold it back on itself so that there is not a sharp end. (Flat tight U Loop) and start pushing it through the drain. If you hit any blockages or elbows try bending the loop just slightly. (Just do not force it really hard as you may detach the drain tube from the freezer compartment. Measure the distance that you have traveled the wire through the drain. It is pretty much a straight shot top to under the bottom of the chassis at which point there are some bends. Once you know you have reached the bottom of the chassis... pour HOT water thru the drain and observe the lower catch tray in the bottom of the unit checking for water flow from the tube. Often the plastic tray in the bottom of the unit has water in it just as a result of normal defrosting. The end of the cabinet drain tube sits in that tray. Over time the dust and lint that collects forms an ugly goo in the plastic tray. That goo eventually dries out and can also encapsulate the end of the drain tube. Make sure to clean the drain pain and the end of the drain tube during this process.

If you have problems and there is water in the drain that you need to remove; a roast baster works pretty good for removal of the water near the drain.

While you have it manually defrosted do your best to clean the drain top and bottom. These 2 areas are where most blockages occur.

Once your all done cleaning... wipe the bottom catch tray dry.
Pour a measure amount of water 50 ml or so in the top drain.
Check to make sure you get 50 ml at the catch tray. If you do not get close to what you put in.. at least 45 ml. Then there is a problem with the drain tube. i.e Hole, pinch, fold etc.

Getting the unit to room temp... (Fan) and letting the room temp defrost the ice in the tube is the best way to clear this. Slow process but a must do. There really is not a fast way to do this. If you don't have access to a piece of wire... a larger LONG plastic ZIP / Cable / Spot tie (Like they use for handcuffs) will work well also.

The defrost drain hole in the freezer side is frozen closed.
Turn off the fridge.Remove the bottom bin and look on the back wall of the freezer for the drain pan. It will have a block of ice in it. Use a hair dryer to defrost the pan AND the drain hole inside the pan,until you can pour a cup of water through the drain hole.

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove bottom shelf from fridge and remove the styrofoam..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the Freezer is because the water has been leaking into the freezer instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you need any further assistance. You have a blockage in your drain tube, at the bottom of the metal tray there is a hole which is connected to a tube which runs down the back of your refridge to a pan next to the compressor. It is an easy fix have done this 1000's times. Remove back panel in freezer, grab a heat gun or hair dryer and melt the ice it the bottom of tray. Clean the water in the tray with some paper towel next get some hot water in a measuring jug and pour into the pan(hot water will help melt ice in tube) repeat this process a couple of times and then get a curtain wire or something flexible to push down the pipe to clean the blockage...you will know when the blockage is clear because the water in the pan will suddenly drain off....put cover back on...make sure to unplug appliance before servicing...hope this helps :)

There is normally a small filiament of metal which is attached to the defrost element and conducts heat down the drainpipe preventing ice build up. You can pour some boiling water onto this area and even wriggle a piece of plastic tubing down the drain pipe to dislodge any blockage. For future prevention, you can attach a piece of copper wire around the defrost element (in the absence of the original filiament) and extend it down the drainpiple

Try taking a small piece of solid copper wire strand, loop over defrost heater and extend into drain hole, this is a trick we use to help with this issue by bringing a little heat around the hole. The freezer may be manufactured by Woods Inc, a canadian appliance builder. These did have lots of problems with the water building up between the inner and outer liners, Not much you can do with these either to totally resolve this issue. Make sure the water is going into the drain pan when you pour the hot water.
