Sunbeam hand blender won't rotate

I have a sunbeam 2 speed hand blender 2951 model. Have had blender for several years since new and stopped working (rotating) the other week. We think the buttons have collapsed, rather than the motor blowing up itself. This is our gut feeling as far as any diagnosis goes. Anyone who has experienced this and could suggest a way to repair this would be great.

SOURCE: Mixmaster motor won't spin. Leads from circuit

so far I determined the thermal fuse had blown. I jumped around it but can get replacement. Now the motor runs full speed when turned on. I suspect the pot turned by the speed knob is bad. Having trouble locating a replacement circuit board.

Why do beaters stop spinning on the Sunbeam 2370 as soon as they hit the ingredients? It's new.

It is most likely that the 'shear pin' in the drive system has sheared. If it was 'new' someone bought it, over-worked it, packed it up and sent it back.

Parts are obsolete already, it must be new to you, not 'new'.

I'm from Colombia my blender buy it in the US, when I use it here in Colombia does not increase the speed always remains constant, not increase, because it can be?

Nothing different between blenders working in US then Colombia. Your blender is defective. Bad luck you bought it in US and never tested before taking it to Colombia. Well, actually a blender can work with just one speed!

My sunbeam mixmaster is about 40 years old and suddenly stopped working

The running capacitor finally died. I used to be their factory service tech. You can change it easily by removing the back knob and the handle. The screws are under the silver buttons. The capacitor looks like a 3/4 x 1 1/4' tube with a small nib sticking out each end.

Our Sunbeam Mixer (stand variety) is about 25+ years old and has many miles on it. . About a week ago, while mixing a light concoction it slowed down and then stopped. It started a couple days later...

You will need to search for a repair shop. There are replaceable parts in the speed control assembly that will cause your symptoms when they fail. The question is - can those replaceable parts still be obtained after 25+ years?

Sunbeam mixer

When you open it, there is are contact points and a piece that has to touch to change the speed. It may just be slightly bent or out of place. Some food may have gotten in there.
