Toshiba 44NHM84 has no picture just red flashing standby light

TV had picture and was safely transported to our new home and now wont power on. Lamp fan can be heard and standby light comes on red and flashes no other lights or sounds. Im the second owner so no idea when lamp was replaced if ever. Would a bad lamp cause this? Thanks.

Something came loose or broke? Is this something I can fix or do I need to have a repair person do? I am technical and knowledgeable to do mid level tasks.

We have a red light flashing on the front of the tv.It shut off and we don't know how to turn it back on.

A red flahing light is sometimes a Standby Mode. Does the power button on the remote turn it on.Sometimes the remote has multi funtions and you need to select TV for it to work.Try using the Power Button on the TV.Good Luck.

I have a Toshiba model 44NHM84 DLP projection TV that will either attempt to power on but then shuts down or when it has powered on there is good sound but no picture.

You will probably find, cahnging the lamp and resetting the timer will fix this problem.
Contact Toshiba for more information if you need to.

KDF-50a12U Powers off then standby light blinks 3 times

Please recheck Lamp Cover and make sure it is fixed in its space securely as 3 times red blink shows lamp cover error.
There is small safety switch in TV cabinet under lamp cover that has to be pushed by lamp cover if it is fixed in its position properly. That switch is not being pressed by lamp cover and causing this error.
Thanks.

Watching tv when the picture went black and now the green on light flashes for 30 times and turns off

A green flashing light for this model of TV indicates that the lamp cover is open on the TV.
  1. Unplug the power cable to the TV.
  2. Remove the 2 retaining screws on the lamp cover with a Phillips type screwdriver.
  3. Remove the lamp door completely from the TV.
  4. Remove the two retaining screws on the lamp case.
  5. Lift up the fixed wire handle of the lamp.
  6. Pull out the handle slowly and remove the lamp case.
  7. Insert the new lamp gently into the correct position. Make sure it is inserted correctly.
  8. Using a manual Phillips screwdriver (Do Not use an electric screwdiver), tighten the screws you removed in
    step 3.
  9. Replace the lamp cover and tighten the cover screws.
  10. Plug in the power cord and turn on the TV. After the initial warmup period (which may take up to several
seconds for full picture brightness), the TV should operate normally.
If any of the following conditions exist, turn off the TV, unplug the power cord, and repeat steps 1–9 to ensure that the lamp unit and lamp unit
door are installed correctly:
  • The lamp indicator flashes green.
  • No picture
  • Dark picture
  • TV will not turn on
If, after repeating steps 1–10, the problem still exists, call Customer Service at 1-800-631-3811.

Tv wont turnon afterstandby

LG will sell you a new lamp. It may resolve the problem but just as likely it's the contacts where the lamp unit plugs to the TV. There's a few types of connectors. The early ones are dodgy and cause the problem you describe. A faulty lamp can also cause it though.

Tv went off while watching a program power standby red light blinks 6 times then pauses then repeats tried unplugging unit waiting a few minutes then replugged same results nothing. can anyone help me ?...

Here's an excerpt from the Sony Manual online. And the link - http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/webtree.pl?template=EN&mdl=KDF55XS955&content_id=68&category_id=11&problem_id=52

The POWER/STANDBY (red) indicator flashes three times
If your power/standby indicator is flashing in a pattern of three flashes, this may indicates that the lamp cover is not attached securely. Follow the directions in the Operating Manual under changing your lamp that related to closing and securing the Lamp Cover. Ensure that the Lamp Cover Door is securely fastened by tightening each screw.

The POWER/STANDBY (red) indicator flashes continously
If your power/standby indicator is flashing continuously, and the lamp cover has been secured, your TV may be in need of service.

The POWER/STANDBY indicator is lit up green (not flashing)
A sustained green light indicates your TV is on.

The POWER/STANDBY indicator is lit up red (not flashing)
A sustained red light from your power/standby indicator simply indicates that your TV is in standby mode. This shows you that your TV is ready to be turned on with the remote.

Is it the power light and not the lamp light? If the lamp light is flashing then replace the lamp.
