Check Screen Saver/Power settings. Change it to not "turn off monitor".

What could be wrong with HP Pavilion f1503 screen?

This is usually faulty capacitors. They are in charge of regulating the power of your monitor, with time, they will go bad. The replacements of this capacitors is usually under $10 or $15 usd.
You will need to open the screen, identify, unsolder and buy the new ones to later on solder back and BOILA!

Hp laptop has blinking red square above touch pad, comp. won't allow for reboot or restoring to factory conditions

If you do an illegal shut down which is power off by holding down the power switch for 8 seconds. The HP computer will then boot with the scandisk program, which will restore your hdd to perfection. Windows XP or later now use 'system restore' to rearrange registry from a previous calender date that the computer used to work perfectly.

I moved and I have not use my computer for almost 3 yrs. The computer turns fine, its being updated, but the monitor screen its bright at first and go into dark. How I can fix it? Can it be the power...

are you sure it is not something to do with the computer? perhaps some sort of screen saver?

secondly, there are "power saving modes" on the screen and on the computer, they could darken the screen to save power.

check to make sure these are not enabled.

When I turn on the monitor, I get an error message: "Warning PC entering power saving mode", then it turns off.

Unplug your dekstop from the electricity then press and hold the power button on your desktop for couple minutes with out no power cable attached to it then let go of the power button then connect your desktop back to electrical outlet and press power button once that should give you display once it turns back on you can go into your power saving options and turn off power saver mode as its conflicting with your LCD sometimes this can occur if you have Norton antivirus installed
if after doing the power drain and still get same message then you can try using a different monitor if you have one for a test.
this issue is not with your monitor but with the PC has been stuck in sleep mode but the power drain should solve your problem.

Screen goes black after booting up

amprich63, You should try to evaluate the state of the "switch-mode-power-supply" in the F1503 unit. Reconnect it to a FULLY booted KNOWN GOOD PC that is currently displaying the WIN-desktop screen! Then and only then push the "ON" button for the F1503. Did you see the desktop window?? if only for 1 second? What did you see next? Did you see a BLACK and BLANK screen? or Maybe just a BLACK screen? Do another post to this and tell me EXACTLY what you see or don't see when you shine a bright torch 2-3cm from lcd panel!!! I think you may have a BACKLIGHTING or POWER SUPPLY problem. I'm12fixlouie on fixya. if this was of some help rate this on fixya

THis is a problem of the invertor board. If you are technically able you need to disasseble the monitor and resolder components around the red or yellow inverter transformers.
