You did not mention which lens. Some Canon digital cameras will only take EFS lens, others take both EF and EFS. Also there are other types of lens mounts made by Canon.

SOURCE: shutter speed and apiture priority

The green rectangle is full automatic. You can use the P mode for the same function. In the P mode, you can change settings, in the green rectangle, you cannot.

SOURCE: My Cannon Rebel EOS 35mm film Camera is producing blank Film

If you are getting some photos where only part of the image is visible, then I suspect that they were photos where you used a flash.

Cameras have a specified maximum shutter speed for use with a flash, this is called its 'sync speed'. This is the fastest speed that the camera will need to open the lead shutter and close the trailing shutter in order to expose the entire surface area of the image and have it evenly lit by the flash unit. If you shoot too fast of a speed, then the shutter will only be partly completed its exposure and you'll get a photo with only part of the image showing. The faster the speed past the sync speed, the less the resulting area of the image. Most cameras will have a sync speed of 1/250 or less. I think a lot of the Rebel models are 1/90 - consult your manual.

SOURCE: lens

Quantaray is a private label lens made for Ritz Camera. They make this lens to fit several different camera brands including Nikon and Canon. The only ones that will fit a Canon camera body are the ones with the Canon EOS mount. If your Quantaray lens doesn't have an EOS mount, then it won't work on your Canon camera. You can take the lens to any Ritz Camera location and they can help determine which mount it has, and which cameras it will fit.

SOURCE: I have got an EOS Elan II E Film Camera (Cannon).

Hi, all canon EOS digital cameras can take all EF lenses. An EF lens from 1989 will fit a Digital body from 2009.
The newer EF-S lenses will only work with the smaller APS-C size sensors on the cheaper consumer bodies.

Are older Sigma Quantaray lenses that I used with a 35 mm SLR Canon Rebel 2000EOS compatible with new DSLR Canon bodies?

Yes. Bear in mind that many Canon digital SLRs have a sensor smaller than a frame of 35mm film. This results in the image being cropped, narrowing the field of view and making the lens behave as if it was of a longer focal length.

Will the lenses for a film camera (Canon EOS Rebel) fit a new digital body? Thanks.

Yes the Canon EOS lenses from film bodies will fit and work well on Canon digital bodies.
Depending on the Canon digital body you select the lens may have a 1.6 x factor. Meaning the focal length of the film lens will become a longer focal length. For an example Canon's 50mm f1.8 lens on the APS size digital sensor will translate to an 80mm equivalent. This is great for most people but, getting a good wide angle lens is a bit of a challenge, there has to be a tread off somewhere. There are Canon full frame cameras that this factor doesn't apply, for example a Canon 5D.

If my scrren is blank how do i update the firmware

On the EOS Rebel XS 35mm you cannot update the firmware. It's possible on later Digital Rebel models, but not on the 35mm film versions.

How do you delete multiple pictures on my camera

I think you've listed this under the wrong category.

You cannot delete multiple pictures on a Canon EOS Rebel XS 35mm SLR unless you do it the same way as on ALL film cameras: remove the film and pull it all out of the film canister. But this destroys all images.

If you're asking how to do it on a digital camera the answer will depend upon the exact make and model and I respectfully suggest that you repost your question under the correct subject heading with the necessary details.

What camara can i use with a quantaray 100-300 af lens

You can use a Quantaray lens that fits on a Canon EOS film camera body on any Canon EOS camera body - film or digital. Your choice of EOS camera depends on your budget and your needs.

I recommend starting out with a used or refurbished model - let someone else eat the depreciation on the camera. After you have shot with a digital SLR for a while you will have a much better idea what features matter most for your needs and can make a better decision what new(er) model is the best fit for your money. Obviously you know a bit about photography having used a film EOS camera but there are many things that are different about a digital body. One of the biggest differences is that they come out with a new camera several times a year, and a camera body that is just 2-3 years old will be 2-3 generations old, and worth only a small fraction of the price it sold for new - unlike film bodies that held their value much longer.
