Believe it or not, the solution MIGHT be to re-immerse it in CLEAN water. But here's the absolute most important thing: REMOVE THE BATTERY AS SOON AS YOU READ THIS AND DISCONNECT any other form of power!!!!!. Remove any and all covers, immerse, swish around, then place it in a good strong SOCK and spin it around to centrifuge most of the water out. Now the painful part: Wait about a week! I know, "A WEEK"?? and preferably in front of a small fan. After that, batteries back in, give it a try. If still nothing? It's a nice doorstop.
(Works about 67% of the time)
Odds are there is corrosion on the board now, if it's been a couple of days, you can try some youtube videos and see if you can get it apart to check it out.
Since you already tried to turn it on before it was dried out, best bet is to find her one for Christmas, sorry about that.

It's not likely to be battery, but fracture in ribbon cable to top screen causing this. Both screens must be connected or you get the symptom you've explained.
SOURCE: Ds green light comes on dim then gets bright then cuts off and nothing!!!!
there is no power and it will not charge
SOURCE: DS lite green light comes on, top screen flash, then switches off
The green light comes on... the screen flashes white for a split second... then it shuts off. I don't think it's the battery because the light flashes green
SOURCE: Ds Lite not power up L2 Inductor is not good not work.
For the L2 L4 inductor specification, I check the following website, on there have original L2,l4 inductor power and specification

By the way,L2,L4 is not fuse,
It is Inductor power
SOURCE: My DS Lite charges fine but it wont turn on not
Hi there, if it was a fuse the power light would turn on then off straight away, or when you plug the charger in the charge light will light up for a second then turn off again. I suspect it is the L2 inductor, take a look at my guide to see how to repair it -
