If I remeber correctly, the Samsung HT-Z310 is a dvd system.....not blu-ray. Won't play blu-rays - never has, never will.

SOURCE: We have a samsung blue ray player BD-P1400. We've

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/download/supportDown.do?group=mp3audiovideo&type=blu_ray&subtype=blu_raydiscplayers&model_nm=BD-P1400&language=&dType=D&mType=FM&vType=R&prd_ia_cd= This is the link to Samsung for firmware updates. All manufacturers have had several updates moving on with disc technology. If you can't burn this to a disc as data, then email samsung and they will send you an update disc. Next, if you don't have one, get a Laser Lense Cleaner. Preferably one that uses liquid, and run that thru a couple times. Clean your players often! it's a good habit to get in to. Hope this helps

I have sylvnia n8631slx blueray player it won't play my blue rays but it will ply reg dvds

It could be a dirty optical pickup or a bad one.

Blue rays are more particular about the pickup being dirty or even bad and will do exactly what you say here.

If cleaning does not resolve it will be cheaper to replace than repair.

My panasonic dmpbd10a blueray player wont play blueray Avatar movie

With people downloading movies illegally, companies have put blocks on DVD's, unfortunately making the DVD unplayable for some blue-ray players

Sonybdp-s301 won't play 2012

Sony BDP-S301 has an upgrade to Version 5.3 to support the new Blu-ray discs. Download the software here (Click the link). Read the procedure carefully and follow it exactly.
Note: The update makes use of a burned, finalized CD DISK, not a DVD Disk.

How can you hook up a dvd blue player to play disc i can play regular disk but not blueray

?? Blu-ray needs a Blu-ray player. If you have a regular DVD connected now, you will need a Blu-ray player connected the same way, through Component cables or with HDMI if this model has that.

When tv is wired to media center and then to blueray dvd , disc will not play. Non blueray disc will play. When tv wired directly to blueray player, blueray disc runs fine. Cables are hdmi

Hi.

When you say disk will not play I assume the BRD player does not start playing.

If the Blue ray unit does not start at all and stays in stand by , then the HDMI cable you are using to connect to TV, or HDMI port on TV may be defective.
Try replacing cable and swapping HDMI ports.

Trying to play new release (TAKEN) says I need an update? have used for months first time to see this

Yes you need to go to your blueray's website and download a update in order for the disk to work.

As it has new stuff that does not support you current plyers version.

Can Bluray be played on this DVD machine?

You can only play blue ray format on a blueray reader. Your recorder/player requires the proper laser and programing to decode large quantities of data. Your manufacturer should clearly state whether it plays blueray fomat.
