Unplug power cord- safety first!
open backcover
check powersupply- top center right is p.s.
top left side of powersupply you'll see 5 capacitor 3300uF 10V.
see any pop up on top? replace it All with same rate or 16v is O.K.
do not use temperature rate 75c. Use 105C.
if you know how to solder. you save $300 least!

This is more probably a software fault within the TV. They need instructions for HDMI inputs & a no sound is a related fault. I would get in touch with your dealer to arrange the TV to be updated to cure this problem. Hope this helps.

I would call the front desk. They usually have a maintenance person who can help you with the connection. If the TV HDMI port is not functioning, they may be able to swap tv's or move you to another room! Good luck!

I may put money that some one did stole your internal cable from the power supply to the main board !
Don't be surprised they did it to me at LG company .

i have the same problem. i think they just get old, i solved the audio problem by taking the cove off the back and disconnecting the speakers, i now just use PC speakers, works grand. i haven't solved the HDMI problem yet..
When you use SIMPLINK function, you have to
connect to the OPTICAL IN 1 jack to enjoy TV
sound to your speaker system.
Basically you need to have the Audio go from TV to receiver and setup receiver to that Input to output surround sound to all speakers.
If you have a cable box or satellite receiver, hook that output into the receivers input and that should work.
My setup is DirectTv HDMI output goes into the LG Home Theater HDMI Input 1, and LG goes HDMI output into the TV HDMI input 1.
so to watch DirectTV, I switch LG Home theater to HDMI Input 1. and TV is on HDMI input 1 (to view LG HDMI output from DriectTV, Blu-Ray, Vudu, etc.)
